  • Publication number: 20200029635
Abstract: Examples are disclosed that relate to a wearable device configured to physically prevent a user from interacting with an identified hazard. One disclosed example provides a wearable device including a motion-restricting system configured to restrict movement of a skeletal joint when activated, a logic subsystem, and memory storing instructions executable by the logic subsystem to receive sensor data from one or more sensors, based at least on the sensor data received, determine whether the wearable device is likely to be in an unsafe state, and when the wearable device is determined likely to be in the unsafe state, send a control signal to the motion-restricting system to activate the motion-restricting system.

  • Patent number: 10546324
Abstract: Methods and systems that record the location of a user and transmit targeted content to a user based upon their current and past location information. A network is configured to include a server programmed with a database of targeted content, a database of location information, a database of user information, a database searching algorithm, and a wireless communication system capable of communicating with the user's mobile device. The location of the mobile device is ascertained and recorded. The location information is analyzed to determine the routes taken by the user, businesses visited by the user, and other behaviors of the user. Targeted content is sent to the mobile device of the user or exposure to physical content is tracked. Whether the user visits the physical locations associated with the content is monitored. Detailed conversion tracking is provided to producers of targeted content and business owners.

  • Publication number: 20200025521
Abstract: A rifle scope and mount system provide a means of securely attaching a telescopic sight to a firearm such that a person installing the scope may set it at an appropriate eye relief distance at any of a number of finely spaced apart locations ahead of the shooters head and sighting eye. The scope and mount system also provides means for radial positioning of a scope within its clamp rings so that a local angular discrepancy in the alignment of horizontal datums established by the rifle as held by a user and local horizontal datums established by a mounting rail or similar scope mounting features on the rifle may be overcome by an affordance for securing the scope at an angular displacement substantially equal and opposite to the discrepancy inherent within the weapon.

  • Publication number: 20200018593
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for ultrasonic measurement of the average diameter and roundness profile of a tube. A roundness algorithm represents the angular dependence of the tube surface profile as a sum of Fourier components, each component being a harmonic representing an integer number of undulations per revolution, with “0” (the first harmonic) corresponds to an average circle associated with the tube outer surface. A calibration block is used to calibrate the first harmonic, representing the average tube diameter.

  • Patent number: 10520782
Abstract: The display includes a transparent display (TD) element or layer such as at least one Transparent Organic Light Emitting Diode (TOLED) element and at least one active shutter (AS) element or layer such as a liquid crystal shutter. The AS may be opaque or transparent. The TD may be transparent or display or emit light in mixtures of color. Black may be displayed by a TD pixel by having the TD be transparent and turning an AS opaque. Each display is composed of elements that can have many states. The states can be used to create different display modes. Devices with these displays can have many form factors and configurations. These devices may change display modes based on spatial context as determined by any one of various environmental and configuration sensors.

  • Patent number: 10523726
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses provide real-time or near real-time streaming of content, specified in one or more playlists, using transfer protocols such as an HTTP compliant protocol. In one embodiment, a method can execute a user application on a client device to present media files and to control presentation of the media files. The method can further run a media serving process on the client device to retrieve a playlist specifying the media files and a media source at which the media files are available, to retrieve the media files from the media source, and to decode the media files retrieved. The media serving process can call the user application to process a custom URL in order to obtain an object referred to by the custom URL.

  • Patent number: 10509910
Abstract: A software component, upon receiving a request for access to a provider having a plurality of service levels, determines the current security state of the requesting device. The security state of the requesting device varies according to severity levels of device security events. The software component compares that security state to a policy associated with the provider. The software component then allows the requesting device access to the provider services where the device's current security state meets or exceeds the security state required for the service.

  • Publication number: 20190374860
Abstract: Systems and method for providing a single sign in a gaming console that associates online activity that is out-of-game/cross game, and/or online activity that is in-game, and/or activity that is offline and in-game with that account. While online, a service tracks activity of gamers and provides usage statistics in a profile. While offline, the game console tracks the player's activity via a mechanism to collect detailed information about a specific player's in-game statistics and accomplishments. The offline activity is cached and uploaded when the console connects to the online service. Players can accumulate achievements offline that are credited towards online activities.

  • Publication number: 20190370025
Abstract: A technique is described herein for managing the manner in which a computing device transitions from one user interface (UI) mode to another. The technique stores state information that describes prior states of UI features that have appeared in previous UI presentations, with respect to different UI modes. When transitioning from a first UI presentation (associated with a first UI mode) to a second UI presentation (associated with a second UI mode), the technique leverages the state information to restore one or more aspects of a prior-encountered state associated with the second UI mode.
