  • Publication number: 20230307154
Abstract: A busbar for electrical power distribution applications. The busbar includes an aluminum (Al) metal matrix composite (MMC) having nanoscale carbon particles (e.g., carbon nanotubes). In one example, the concentration of the nanoscale carbon particles is in a range of 0.01 to 2 percent weight (wt %). The nanoscale carbon particles are evenly distributed throughout an entirety of the Al-MMC.

  • Publication number: 20220069448
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to methods, apparatus, and systems for mitigating signal attenuation at a body-worn device transmitting a radio signal. An antenna structure for the body-worn device includes an antenna array configured to radiate at least one radio signal and a conductive band capacitively coupled to the antenna array. The conductive band is configured to detachably couple to a body of a user, and mitigate attenuation of the at least one radio signal when the conductive band is coupled to the body. The conductive band mitigates the attenuation by facilitating a radio frequency (RF) signal current corresponding to the at least one radio signal to flow through the conductive band and preventing absorption of the RF signal current by the body.

  • Publication number: 20180044806
Abstract: A method of producing a non-metallic feedstock powder suitable for reduction to metal comprises the steps of combining a liquid with solid metal oxide particles to form a mixture, subjecting the mixture to high-shear mixing to form a liquid suspension of metal oxide and the liquid, and drying the liquid suspension using a fluidised-bed spray-granulation process to grow a plurality particles to form the non-metallic feedstock powder. The method allows feedstock powders to be grown to desired particle sizes. The method allows production of feedstock powders having controlled compositions.

  • Patent number: 9820323
Abstract: A wireless audio device tethering system is provided for including an intermediary device having at least one wireless transceiver that is configured to establish a first wireless connection with a first wireless audio device and a second wireless connection with a second wireless audio device. The intermediary device is also configured to receive a unique identifier from the second wireless audio device and to transmit the unique identifier to the first wireless audio device in order to initiate wireless tethering between the first and second wireless audio device. Once tethering has been initiated, wireless audio signals can be streamed to the first wireless audio device and then re-streamed to the second wireless audio device.

  • Patent number: 9611558
Abstract: A method of producing metallic powder comprises steps of arranging a volume of feedstock comprising a plurality of non-metallic particles within an electrolysis cell, causing a molten salt to flow through the volume of feedstock, and applying a potential between a cathode and an anode such that the feedstock is reduced to metal. In preferred embodiments the feedstock is a plurality of discrete powder particles and these particles are reduced to a corresponding plurality of discrete metallic particles. In advantageous embodiments, the feedstock may be sand.

  • Patent number: 5735564
Abstract: A safety screen or barrier (10) for the protection of occupants within the vehicle against unrestrained forwardly moving loads within the vehicle in a situation where the vehicle suddenly decelerates. The screen assembly (10) comprise a thermoformed panel (11) of tough impact resistant polycarbonate material which, when mounted within the vehicle extends transversely from side to side and from top to bottom of the vehicle, the panel (11) being capable of deforming by eversion when load impacts thereagainst. The panel (11) has a rearwardly directed peripheral flange (17) and a forwardly bowed or arched profile in vertical section. Deformable pockets in the lower region of the panel (11) assist in cushioning the impact of the moving load against the panel. Devices (12) releasably anchor upper corners of the panel (11) to the vehicle roof, while devices (13) releasably engage bottom corner portions to the floor of the vehicle.
