Publication number: 20230277325Abstract: A method for replacing a joint at an end of a bone includes resecting an end of a bone so as to form a resected surface. A cement restrictor is inserted into an intramedullary canal of the bone. A filling prosthesis is implanted into the intramedullary canal in a press-fit manner. The void filling prosthesis has a channel that extends entirely through the void filling prosthesis. Bone cement is injected into the intramedullary canal between the bone restrictor and the resected surface so that the resected surface remains free of the bone cement. The bone cement is then pressurized. A joint prosthesis is implanted onto an end of the bone such that a porous bone facing surface of the joint prosthesis directly contacts the resected surface and a stem of the joint prosthesis extending from the porous bone facing surface is positioned within the pressurized bone cement.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2023Publication date: September 7, 2023Inventors: Jordan Kayal, Pramit Pattnaik, Kenneth Pascale, Michael James Dunbar

Patent number: 6496010Abstract: A power system includes an output voltage terminal that is coupled by a first conductor to one pressed power contact which is then coupled by a second conductor to an electronic device. Also, the electronic device is coupled by a third conductor to one pressed signal contact which is then coupled by a fourth conductor to an output voltage feedback terminal on the power supply. Further, the power system includes a fault detection circuit which is coupled to the fourth conductor. In operation, the fault detection circuit senses if the pressed signal contact is open at a time when the pressed signal contact is supposed to be closed. If an open contact is sensed, the fault detection circuit sends a signal to an operator which indicates that corrective action is needed.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2001Date of Patent: December 17, 2002Assignee: Unisys CorporationInventors: Nicholas Tyson Myers, James Dunbar Walker

Patent number: 5216619Abstract: The present invention relates to a path management system for regulating equipment resources which moves process material through a process system. The process system includes a control procedure for implementing a specific process application. The path management system includes a path editor for building different path specifications, each of which defines an equipment set and sequences of equipment operations for a specific process application. A database is interconnected to the path editor for storing the plurality of path specifications built by the path editor. The path management system further includes a path selector for selecting a single path specification for the specific process application from a plurality of path specifications stored in the database. The path selector then validates the availability of equipment resources identified by the selected single path specification at a particular instant in time.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1989Date of Patent: June 1, 1993Assignee: The Foxboro CompanyInventors: M.
