The first row of pins is along a first side of the frame between the indented opposing sides and the second row of pins is along a second side of the frame between the indented opposing sides.

Abstract: A transceiver with a housing, a transceiver receptacle, and a first and second adapter. The housing is configured for connection to a host. The transceiver receptacle is coupled to the housing, and the transceiver receptacle has a first side defining a first interface portion and a second side defining a second interface portion. The first adapter has a first connection portion configured to couple with the first interface portion. The second adapter has a second connection portion configured to couple with the second interface portion. The transceiver receptacle is configured to interface with a first front panel opening of a network device when the first and second adapters are not coupled with the transceiver receptacle. Also, the transceiver receptacle is configured interface with a second front panel opening of a network device when the first and second adapters are coupled with the transceiver receptacle. The first and second front panel openings on the network device are of different sizes.

Abstract: Methods and instruments are provided for performing spinal disc space preparation and implant insertion in minimally invasive procedures. The instruments include cutting instruments and implant insertion instruments adapted for insertion through a minimally invasive access portal to a spinal disc space. The proximal portions of the instruments are adapted to facilitate viewing through a proximal end opening of the access portal with the instruments positioned through the access portal while also enhancing the surgeon's control of the distal working end of the instruments while in the disc space.

Abstract: A method of performing network communications includes receiving a datagram for transmitting information over a network, selecting a layer in a network protocol stack to establish communication over the network using an inner layer application programming interface (IL API), establishing an inner layer socket at the selected network layer using the IL API without accessing other layers in the layered network protocol stack, and transmitting the datagram packet over the selected layer using the inner layer socket.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for performing a network management task on a network device. The network device loads a network management application capable of performing the network management task onto the network device in response to a request. Loading may include accessing an application server having the network management application capable of a performing the network management task and downloading the network management application over a network from the application server to the network device. The network device then executes the network management application corresponding to the requested network management task. Methods and systems provide a result from executing the network management application to a network management system used to manage the network.

Abstract: A modular sensing station architecture that supports flexible power management includes one or more sensors connected to a WINS node. Each node includes power supply, data acquisition, programmable microprocessor and wireless transceiver modules that communicate data and instructions over a bus. The bus suitably includes a signal bus for communicating instructions and low bandwidth data and a high-capacity data bus for transferring high bandwidth data and executing high power tasks. The dual bus approach provides constant communications among the modules and low-capacity data transfer with the option to activate the high-power circuits or tasks only as needed.

Abstract: A method for fetching sparsely indexed MIB tables for a managed network device using an approximation operation, such as a GetNext SNMP operation, comprises sending a plurality of operations in a first data packet at least one of the plurality of approximation operations specifying a speculative approximation. By using speculative approximations of index values of data to be fetched, it is possible to retrieve MIB table data more quickly and efficiently.

A raw data value for a monitored characteristic of a network device or link is obtained by the management system and compared with a predetermined threshold value for the monitored characteristic. If the raw data value is greater than or equal to said threshold value, the management system provides a stress value equal to a default value, said default value being a maximum or minimum value of a predefined bounded range; and if the raw value is less than said threshold value, the management system calculates a stress value within said predefined bounded range using an appropriate algorithm for said monitored characteristic.

A servlet engine that includes a security module that assures that only those requests that are properly authenticated and authorized are serviced by a servlet. Abstract: The invention relates to hulls for planing or semi-planing water craft. The hull (4) has an abruptly down-swept trailing edge portion (18) which, in the preferred embodiment, is in the form of a flap extending across the full width of the transom of the hull and which projects beyond the level of an upswept portion of the underside (14) of the hull by only a small fraction of the length (L) of the hull. According to another aspect of the invention, a hull (4) having a lightly cambered nose portion (5, 10, 12) is also described and claimed. The claimed hulls offer higher lift coefficients and lift/drag ratios than conventional planing hulls, and can operate at zero angle of attack at design speed.

Abstract: A network management apparatus and method for determining the topology of a network in which a Spanning-Tree protocol is implemented, is disclosed in which address table data is obtained from the ports of the core network devices on the network, and the identity of the ports of the core network devices are determined. Spanning-Tree protocol information is obtained from the core network devices and used to process the address table data to remove data relating to ports having links which are inactive. The topology of the network is then determined using the processed data by first selecting one of the core network devices as a root network device, and then using the processed address table data to build a network tree from the selected root device.

Abstract: A network management apparatus and method processes network management data in a network management system during the monitoring of a network. The apparatus and method considers whether the network management data indicates that the network condition of an event previously generated by the network management system is no longer present on the network, and therefore resolved. In a preferred embodiment, if the network management data indicates that a previous event has been resolved, the event is marked as resolved for presentation in an event list to the user. The user can then easily identify events which have been resolved.
