Abstract: A waste water treatment apparatus comprising an electrode or electrode array, a DC power supply source (or supply sources) operably connected through a current modulator to the electrode or the electrode array, wherein the current modulator permits connection of the power supply to the electrode or electrode array and is itself operably connected to a pulse generator and a control system comprising at least the current modulator and the pulse generator which, in concert with the power supply is configured to provide a pulsing or modulating electrical DC current supply at variable frequency and variable duty cycle to the electrode or electrode array and to reverse the polarity of such current supply if, as and when required.

Abstract: An irrigation control system for land comprising: (a) at least one meter to measure one or more wheather conditions in a first area; (b) at least one monitor to (i) examine rainfall data derived from a radar scanning at least the first area according to predetermined criteria and (ii) to extract data which is representative of the scanned rainfall in a sub-area of the first area; (c) a store to store the extracted data; and (d) a controller connected directly or indirectly to the meter and the monitor and to the store, to calculate a moisture content value for the sub-area and a predetermined moisture content value for the sub-area, and to regulate the irrigation in a sub-area.

Abstract: The invention relates to a control system and method, particularly for providing sophisticated switching control, such as for the provision of irrigation control and/or scheduling lighting schedules, security measures, and other purposes, with respect to a site or a series of sites in an area. A method of control for a distributed event system is disclosed, the method providing control of events at one or more locations, each location associated with a programmable location controller (10) able to cause or permit a prescribed event to be carried out at that location, each location controller (10) able to receive control commands from a remote controller, each location controller (10) having at least two default settings to govern implementation of said prescribed event in case of non-receipt of commands from said remote controller. The default settings may be automatically selectable in accordance with the time, e.g. time of day, day of week and/or season of year.

Abstract: An irrigation control system for land includes a weather station to measure one or more weather conditions in a first area; means to measure rainfall in a sub-area of the first area; and a computer connected directly or indirectly to the weather station and rainfall-measuring means. The computer is adapted to monitor the measurements of the weather station and rainfall-measuring means, to calculate a moisture content value for the sub-area from the measurements and a predetermined moisture loss for the sub-area, and to regulate irrigation of the sub-area.
