  • Patent number: 10642542
Abstract: A method for creating a machine-readable code for a custom cut stock is disclosed. For example, the method is executed by a processor and includes receiving information associated with the custom cut stock, creating the machine-readable code for the custom cut stock, wherein the machine-readable code contains the information and at least one system setting of a printing device, and transmitting the machine-readable code to the printing device to automatically configure the printing device for the custom cut stock.

Inventors: Charles Dickinson, James E. Baxter, III, Valerie Parcero
  • Patent number: 8028204
Abstract: A method and system for performing one or more preventative maintenance functions for a data-processing apparatus. One or more notifications regarding daily maintenance functions can be generated in the form of a reminder when the data-processing apparatus begins operation. A history of the maintenance functions performed can be stored in a memory through remote data pushes. An email alert can be generated and transmitted to a user regarding incomplete maintenance functions in order to track the maintenance activities. The data-processing apparatus can be monitored in a consolidated manner and the occurrence of fault information stored and then rapidly retrieved to provide notifications indicative of such maintenance data.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: September 27, 2011
    Assignee: Xerox Corporation
Inventors: James E Baxter, III, Russell John Sokao
  • Patent number: 7983601
Abstract: A toner transport apparatus for a printing system in which toner is moved from a toner container to a developer housing. The toner transport apparatus can accommodate different lengths and orientations between the toner container and the developer housing. The apparatus discloses a variable length component that expands or contracts to extend the toner transport apparatus to a desired length. The toner transport apparatus can assume unique angles per station with a gear mechanism. A flexible auger can be associated with the toner transport apparatus to move material in non-vertical positions. The toner transport apparatus with the variable length component and flexible auger would provide the ability to reuse components at a variety of positions and angles.
