  • Patent number: 5239923
Abstract: A multi-station screen printer is provided with components which simplify maintenance, reduce repair and increase ease of use. The printer includes at least one printing head which defines a printing station, a screen holding device positioned thereunder for holding a screen, and at least one arm for carrying substrates positionable below the screen holding device. A flood bar and squeegee carriage is slideably mounted to the printing head and is shiftable by a telescoping cable which shifts the carriage between a print position wherein the squeegee is lowered to the screen and a non-print position wherein a flood bar is lowered near the screen. The arm for carrying platens is provided with a ball and socket system of registration which reliably positions the arm at each station and releases the arm therefrom after printing on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4817523
Abstract: A screen printing press includes a main frame, a generally horizontal printing bed supported on the frame and a rectangular printing frame or head which is pivotal between a first, generally parallel printing position to a second, angled flood position. A squeegee and flood bar carriage is supported for reciprocating movement along the printing frame. The carriage includes a flood bar support member and a squeegee support member. The support members are engaged by a shifting plate which is pivoted to the carriage. A flipper rod assembly engages a sliding follower which is fixed to the shifting plate. The flipper bar assembly is pivoted to the printing frame. An actuating rod or tongue engages a shifting bracket fixed to the main frame of the press. Pivotal movement of the press alternately raises and lowers the flipper bar to alternately raise and lower the flood bar and squeegee support members.

  • Patent number: 4175817
Abstract: A connector module for loadbreak operation having an insulating housing and a switch insert. The insert includes a container with a major portion of uniform diameter and a configuration such that the diameter does not increase from its outer end to its inner end. Inside the container is a snuffer-contact assembly. A bore contact having a gas port is attached to a snuffer tube of the assembly and has fixed to it a piston adapter for driving the snuffer-contact assembly toward the open end of the container tube in response to gas generated by arcing inside the bore. Resilient sliding contact means are fixed to the piston and press against the inside wall of the container tube to establish continuous electrical contact with it even while the piston is moving. A gas check valve member is resiliently seated against the inner side of the gas port. Keyways in the piston ride over longitudinal keyribs formed in the wall of the container to prevent rotation of the piston in the container.

  • Patent number: 4119358
Abstract: A connector module for loadbreak operation having an insulating housing and a switch insert. The insert includes a container with a major portion of uniform diameter and a configuration such that the diameter does not increase from its outer end to its inner end, to permit the insert to be installed in the finished housing. Inside the container is a snuffer-contact assembly which has a bore lined with an ablative material.

  • Patent number: 4090765
Abstract: A module of the type having an elongated insulating housing, a contact-receiving bore in the housing, and a bore contact mounted in the housing in communication with the inner end of the bore, for receiving a rod contact of a matching module, is provided with an improved gas-trap valve which comprises a sliding segment gate. The valve is mounted adjacent the outermost end of the bore. It comprises an annular valve casing member having a central opening in alignment with the bore and a chamber in the casing in which the gate segments slide between a pair of parallel and opposed walls in a plane perpendicular to the bore and are biased in a closed position. A depression in the outer faces of the valve segments permits the valve segments to be forced into the open position in response to pressure by a rod contact inserted into the opening.
