Patent number: 8506811Abstract: A recirculated marine aquaculture system and process for growing crustaceans or other fish within a body of water. Water from the body of water is treated by stripping carbon dioxide and biological byproducts and by oxygenating the water. A water treatment unit may be provided to treat the water and provide movement to the body water. The water treatment unit can be configured to provide cavitation to the water, which aids in the removal of carbon dioxide and biological byproducts. Water may also be cycled through a deflocculation tank to reduce the floc of bacteria within the body of water to acceptable levels for optimal growth of crustaceans or other fish within a body of water. Using the system and the deflocculation tank has the advantage of significantly reducing the water exchange rates and even the water effluent, while maintaining acceptable water quality for growing crustaceans or other fish.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2010Date of Patent: August 13, 2013Assignee: Bradley Innovation Group, LLCInventors: James E. Bradley, Jeremy L. Bradley

Patent number: 7682504Abstract: A recirculated marine aquaculture system for growing crustaceans within a body of water includes a wholly submerged chamber situated in the body of water having a filtering wall connecting the chamber floor and ceiling permitting water to flow from the water body into the first chamber while excluding particulate materials. A second chamber is situated above the first chamber having a plurality of water outlets below the body of water upper surface, and a top having an air inlet above the body of water upper surface. A stand pipe has an open lower end opening into the first chamber and a plurality of laterally directed openings into the top of the second chamber. An impeller coupled to the stand pipe moves filtered water from the first chamber through the laterally directed openings into the second chamber adjacent to the air inlet, the water exiting the second chamber into the body of water through the plurality of water outlets after mixing with air drawn in through the air inlet.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2008Date of Patent: March 23, 2010Assignee: Aqua Manna, LLCInventors: James E. Bradley, Jeremy L. Bradley

Publication number: 20090031601Abstract: A menu panel for supporting elongated menu strips of varying heights is disclosed having adjustable guide rails supported by a frame. The frame includes vertical side frame members incorporating guide rail locating elements disposed along the length of the vertical side frame members to position the guide rails. The guide rails are selectively positionable along the length of the vertical side frame members to provide adjustable spacing between adjacent pairs of guide rails. The menu strips include descriptive indicia such as product names and pricing information and are disposed between and supported by adjacent pairs of the guide rails.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2008Publication date: February 5, 2009Applicant: LSI INDUSTRIES, INC.Inventors: James E. Bradley, Donald E. Lunnemann, Robert Uzzolino

Patent number: 5558042Abstract: An aquaculture system is provided for filtering water and includes a filter rotatably carried in a container for receiving water to be filtered. The filter includes a porous resilient filter screen forming an outer layer of the filter for removing particulate from water passing through the filter screen. A vacuum cleaning device is positioned in direct contact with the resilient filter screen for removing particulate collected at the outer surface of the resilient filter screen. A water nozzle supplies a stream of water to the resilient filter screen to remove particulate therefrom not previously removed by the vacuum cleaning device. A rotation device is coupled to the filter to rotate the filter in the container.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1994Date of Patent: September 24, 1996Inventors: James E. Bradley, Duane C. Leach

Patent number: 5520718Abstract: A method for degassing molten steel comprises the use of a lift gas which includes carbon dioxide. The inventive method includes providing a reaction zone isolated from the ambient atmosphere, and providing a bath of molten steel, at least a portion of which is located in the reaction zone. The pressure is reduced in the reaction zone to a sub-atmospheric pressure. A gas comprising carbon dioxide is supplied to the bath of molten steel in order to vertically circulate the molten steel. The method also preferably includes (a) supplying carbon dioxide, e.g., with a tuyere, to the reaction zone and (b) supplying carbon dioxide to the bath of molten steel, e.g., by gas bubbling or stirring. An apparatus for performing the method steps is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1994Date of Patent: May 28, 1996Assignee: Inland Steel CompanyInventors: Leonard M. Keilman, William F. Flanagan, Jr., James E. Bradley, Shankverm R. Balajee
