  • Patent number: 4401925
Abstract: A method of, and apparatus for, energizing electromagnetic vibrators. An electromagnetic vibrator, driven by an electromagnet, is energized directly from an electric mains supply line carrying alternating current at a particular frequency. The electromagnet is operated at a fraction greater than one-quarter, and preferably equal to two-thirds or two-fifths, of the supply frequency such that the current drawn from the mains supply is substantially alternating current.

  • Patent number: 4371800
Abstract: An electromagnetic vibratory motor having an armature and a stator, both incorporating a number of magnetic poles spaced apart along the direction of action of the motor. An air gap is maintained between the poles of the armature on the one hand and the poles of the stator on the other so that there is no interference between the respective pole sets during vibration of the motor. In the rest position, the stator poles are arranged symmetrically with respect to the center lines of the gaps between respective armature poles.
