  • Patent number: 6287000
Abstract: A flexible package includes a recloseable zipper along the mouth of the package for selective opening and closing of the mouth. The zipper includes first and second closure profiles, which are configured and constructed to selectively interlock. A tamper evident seal is provided, attached to both the first and second closure members to indicate whether or not the seal on the package has been damaged. A slider device is configured and constructed to facilitate the mating (closing) and unmating (opening) of the zipper, and to open the tamper evident seal to provide access to the package interior.

  • Patent number: 6287001
Abstract: A flexible package includes a package surrounding wall having a side edge and a mouth. A recloseable zipper is provided along the mouth for selective opening and closing of the mouth. The zipper includes first and second closure profiles. The first closure profile has a first closure member and a first flange. The second closure profile has a second closure member and a second flange. The first and second closure members are constructed and arranged to selectively interlock. A slider device is constructed and arranged to selectively open and close the mouth. A first seal region and a second seal region are provided. The first seal region permanently secures together the first and second flanges of the first and second closure profiles. The first seal region has a first length extending from the side edge. The second seal region permanently secures together the first and second closure members of the first and second closure profiles.

  • Patent number: 5580022
Abstract: A unitary molded plastic display platform comprises a flat horizontal deck for supporting items thereon, a pair of generally parallel opposing vertical side faces, a vertical front face bridging the opposing side faces, and a vertical support leg disposed between the opposing side faces. The display platform is preferably free of a vertical rear face opposing the front face so that the display platform forms an opening at its rear beneath the horizontal deck. The support leg is generally parallel to the opposing side faces. The side faces and the support leg are generally perpendicular to the front face and extend rearward from the front face. The length of the support leg is less than the lengths of the respective side faces. The opposing side faces, the front face, and the support leg extend downward by substantially the same extent from the flat horizontal deck.

  • Patent number: 5057065
Abstract: A process for manufacturing draw tape bags, unique tubular films used in the process and the resulting draw tape bags are disclosed. The process begins with the step of forming a tubular film having a longitudinal region with a film strength greater than the film strength of the remainder of the tube. Next, the longitudinal region of greater strength is slit out of the tube and into draw tape ribbons, leaving the remainder of the tube in the form of a continuous sheet with two side edges. A hem with a draw tape access hole is next formed from each of the two side edges, each of the hems encasing a draw tape ribbon. Last, transverse seams are formed in the folded continuous sheet to define individual bag edges and the folded continuous sheets is severed to form individual bags. In one embodiment the longitudinal region of greater strength is made from a resin different than the resin making up the remainder of the tube.

  • Patent number: 5024642
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for continuously sealing a thermoplastic draw tape to a thermoplastic bag at a sealing section. The bag forms one of a plurality of bags formed on a continuous web of thermoplastic material. The bag includes a hem defining a channel wherein the draw tape is disposed. The section of the bag which includes the hem and the tape thus includes a plurality of layers of thermoplastic material. The apparatus comprises a conveyor for continuously moving the web; a first sealing station for forming a heat seal through at least two of the layers of the hem and tape, the seal being formed on a first side of the bag; and a second sealing station for forming a heat seal through the rest of the layers of the hem and tape at the sealing section on a second side of the bag. The first and second sealing stations form the seals while the web is continuously moved by the conveyor.
