  • Patent number: 5974600
Abstract: A bi-folding spa cover and lift for installing and removing the spa cover are disclosed. The cover includes a pair of cover members which each cover about one-half of the spa. Each cover member consists of a pair of structural plastic panels pivotably secured together so that the cover members can outwardly fold in opposite directions. A flat bottom surface of the panels rests on and overlaps a rim of the spa. A flat rubber gasket secured to the bottom of the panels engages the rim and seals the spa cover to the spa. The lift includes a pair of lift assemblies, each connected to an associated one of the cover members. Each lift assembly includes a pair of vertically extending and horizontally spaced-apart rails positioned beside the spa, a pair of blocks each linearly movable along the rails, and a pair of hinges each secured between an associated one of the blocks and the associated one of the cover members.

  • Patent number: 5139071
Abstract: A louvered blind having a first blind assembly defining a first passageway and a second blind assembly defining a second passageway. A rod passes through both the first and second passageways. A first spacer is frictionally secured to the rod and has a portion disposed in the first passageway for securing the rod to the first blind assembly. The rod is fixedly secured to the second blind. The louvered blind also includes a mechanism for rotating the first spacer and a stop mechanism operatively associated with the rod to resist rotation of the rod. In use, the first spacer and the first blind assembly can be rotated simultaneously with the rod and the second blind assembly. The spacer and the first blind can also be rotated when the stop mechanism resists rotation of the rod and the second blind assembly so that the first blind assembly can be rotated independently of the second blind assembly.

  • Patent number: 4720094
Abstract: Exercise apparatus having locking means for facilitating adjustable positioning of a portion thereof. The exercise apparatus may take the form of an exercise bicycle or other equipment. The locking means are adapted to have a component positioned within a tubular member of the exercise apparatus and receive an adjustable member passing therethrough. The locking means components are adapted to be moved in a path generally transverse to the axis of the adjustable member and are adapted to provide compressive locking action to the adjustable member in the desired position.
