In one embodiment of the invention, the floor of the slide out room is leveled with respect to the floor of the main living area when the slide out room is moved to the extended position by bending of the extendable support member in response to the weight transfer.

Each extensible member includes a hollow outer leg an extensible inner leg that is telescopically disposed within the outer leg. A pinion interconnects the extensible members and synchronizes the extension and retraction of the inner legs relative to the outer legs, and also synchronizes the folding or unfolding of the extensible members.
