Abstract: A gutter cover, components thereof, and associated methods. The gutter cover is configured to be installed over a gutter to prevent debris from entering the gutter. The gutter cover can be made of a webbing material having openings through which water can pass. The gutter cover includes features that facilitate water penetration through the gutter cover for the water to enter the gutter. For example, the webbing material is formed to define a diverter protruding upward and extending lengthwise along the gutter cover body. The diverter has a peak, a rear leg extending upward and forward toward the peak, and a forward leg extending downward and forward from the peak. The rear leg is steeper and shorter than the front leg such that the rear leg defines a water impact surface configured to break surface tension of water flowing along the top of the gutter cover.

Abstract: A corner gutter guard has a front profile for coupling to a front edge of a gutter at an inner corner and a screen portion extending rearward of the front profile. The end sections of the screen portion extend proud of the ends of the front profile. The screen is formed with at least one continuous ridge extending from a left ridge end portion adjacent the left end section to a right ridge end portion adjacent the right end section. The corner gutter guard can be kitted with an angle strip member that couples to a fascia board to support the rear edge margin of the corner gutter guard below roofing shingles. A straight gutter guard can be formed with a lengthwise ridge for overlapping and nesting with the continuous ridge of the corner gutter guard.

The rear profile can define a substantially enclosed pocket along the fascia board for containing back flanges and hanger screw heads of the gutter hangers.

Openings in a center section of the gutter cover are defined by front strands and an opposing rear strands spaced rearward from respective front strands. Forward facing surfaces of the front and rear strands have a first color coating thereon, and rearward facing surfaces of the front and rear strands are free of the first color coating. A method of making the color-coated expanded metal gutter cover is disclosed.

Abstract: A system and method of making a one-piece expanded metal gutter cover having a solid edge margin is disclosed. The system and method involves feeding a continuous web of solid metal to an expanding station, expanding the continuous web at the expanding station to form an expanded web of material having a screen section of expanded metal and a solid section of non-expanded metal, cutting the continuous web to form a gutter cover blank having screen and solid sections, and slitting the solid section of the gutter cover blank to remove a wavy side edge of the blank and create a substantially straight side edge extending along the blank. A system for carrying out this method is also disclosed.

The gutter cover has a front cover portion comprising a surface tension curve curving downward and rearward from a central cover portion for directing water in a downward and rearward direction, and a drain trough extending lengthwise of the gutter cover below the surface tension curve for collecting water directed by the surface tension curve. The gutter cover has a rear cover portion which contacts the gutter hanger.
