Abstract: A risk management system is disclosed comprising a loan policy, at least one risk data system, and a risk system for assessing and evaluating risk. In addition, a method of risk management is disclosed, comprising: establishing a loan policy; monitoring data from a risk data system; comparing the data to the loan policy; recording a risk event if a deviation occurs between the data and the loan policy; performing a risk assessment of the risk event; and enabling a user the access the results of the risk assessment.

Abstract: An automated and integrated lending process for use by a financial institution is provided, comprising: a) a Sales Origination component; b) a Loan Accounting and Processing component; c) a Portfolio Management component; and, d) a network infrastructure utilizing thin client workstations and multiple servers to access the automated lending system via a browser capable interface.

Abstract: A method for securely transmitting information from a network appliance is disclosed. The method includes initially executing a secure kernel and a configuration file containing a load file onto the network appliance. The secure kernel is used to verify the authenticity of the configuration file and a load table within the configuration file.

Abstract: A complex arithmetic processor and method includes a host interface for distributing data, a left memory and a right memory each coupled to the host interface, and a Z memory coupled to the host interface. The left memory and the right memory store the data and the Z memory stores Z memory data. A right/left switch is coupled to the left memory and to the right memory and makes left memory a data source and a right memory a data destination in a first setting, and makes the right memory the data source and the left memory the data destination in a second setting. An arithmetic engine is coupled to the host interface, to the Z memory, and to the left and right memories. The arithmetic engine uses the data and the Z memory data to perform an operation on the data to produce a result.

Abstract: A respiration system for weaning patients from a respirator wherein a mandatory ventilation assist is provided to the patient upon inspiration after predetermined time intervals. A sensitivity mechanism for sensing inspiration by the patient and for actuating the mandatory ventilation assist is desensitized or rendered inoperative during a predetermined time interval in which the patient will be required to breathe normally without assist. At the end of the time interval, the sensitivity mechanism is again rendered operative for the mandatory ventilation assist. In the event that the patient does not trigger the sensitivity mechanism within a second given period of time following the end of the time interval, a mandatory ventilation assist is provided.
