Abstract: A sound dampening housing for conventional respiratory assist devices fabricated of pliant synthetic materials that provide good wear life and cleanability, and provide excellent sound dampening properties. The sound dampening housing substantially encloses a conventional respiratory assist device, but has openings or openable sections which positionally correspond to the functional elements of the respiratory assist device, e.g., air hose connections, blower or pump intakes, control interfaces, power connectors, etc.
