  • Patent number: 6013722
Abstract: Water resistant, low haze acrylic emulsion pressure sensitive adhesive compositions for use in decorative, light management or optical articles are disclosed. These emulsion pressure sensitive adhesives comprise (a) 50-90% by weight n-butyl acrylate, and (b) 10-50% by weight 2-hydroxy ethyl acrylate, or 2-hydroxy ethyl methacrylate, hydroxy propyl acrylate monomer, or mixtures thereof. These emulsion pressure sensitive adhesives can be used in wet lamination processes, and exhibit less than 2% increase in haze, less than 2% increase in opacity and greater than 95% transmittance after the wet lamination process.

  • Patent number: 4329396
Abstract: The corrosion resistance of reflective or transparent-reflective sheet material comprising a vapor-deposited layer of aluminum or other corrodible metal on a polymeric foil backing is enhanced by incorporating a nickel organic ultraviolet light stabilizer in a layer which overlies the metal layer. The sheet material is especially adapted for use in energy control products, where it may be adhered to, or hung in front of, a windowpane.

  • Patent number: 4288493
Abstract: Certain adhesive compositions which are soluble in organic solvents and insoluble in water but activatable thereby, are useful in adhering transparent polymeric foils (especially energy control sheets) to glass. The adhesives, which comprise a blend of (a) methyl vinyl ether:maleic anhydride copolymers or half esters thereof and (b) polyfunctional epoxide or aziridine crosslinker, impart excellent moisture-resistance to laminates.

    Inventor: James E. Kropp
  • Patent number: 4115295
Abstract: Two-part polymerizable compositions are described which contain (a) organic material having epoxide functionality, (b) organic material having hydroxyl functionality, and (c) a catalyst comprising highly fluorinated aliphatic sulfonyl protonic acid or a compound capable of liberating such acid. The compositions polymerize essentially completely at room temperature (or at slightly elevated temperatures). The polymerized compositions have desirable dielectric properties and are therefore especially useful for potting electrical components.
