  • Patent number: 7517119
Abstract: An externally adjustable directional canopy luminaire is disclosed that may be easily and quickly adjusted from the outside of its housing to direct light toward a particular target area. The luminaire includes a lamp shroud assembly including a door frame, a shroud and a lamp socket which is connectable to an electrical power source to power a replaceable lamp, an external adjustment member, and an internal mechanism movably connected to the external adjustment member through the shroud and indirectly connected to a portion of the lamp socket, wherein adjustment of the external adjustment member can alter the angle of direction of the lamp socket and thus the direction of light emitted from the replaceable lamp through the opening of the shroud.

  • Patent number: 5599094
Abstract: A mounting system for luminaire assemblies includes a mounting fixture which can be inserted into a tubular pole and secured therein without the need for complicated fasteners or tools. Specifically, the mounting fixture includes a cylindrical fitting with a tapered threaded section in which the depth of the groove forming the threads decreases upwardly along the fitting. A generally circular wire clip is seated within the tapered groove and upon rotation of the fitting relative to the tubular pole an end or detent of the clip engages the inner surface of the pole thereby prevent rotation of the clip. Continued rotation of the fitting relative to the pole advances the clip upwardly in the threaded section toward the more shallow portions of the groove thereby forming a friction fit between the expanding clip, the mounting fixture and the pole.

  • Patent number: 5458040
Abstract: A teaching device for stringed instruments is provided. The teaching device has an elongate board having grooved rails extending in spaced parallel relation along the longitudinal edges of the board for receiving templates. A template card depicting the string, note and fret configuration of the particular stringed instrument being used is first inserted into the grooves of the rails. A second transparent key template is inserted in the grooves over the first template card. The transparent key template has indicating indicia which indicates the proper notes to be played in the chosen key. The board is removably fastened to the neck of the stringed instrument.

  • Patent number: 4290836
Abstract: A composite reinforced plastic pipe having an integral bell end and method for making the same are disclosed wherein the composite pipe has a resin impregnated surfacing veil liner, a first resin impregnated continuous fiberglass strand reinforced layer coaxial along the inner liner, a sand-resin core layer formed along the cylindrical portion of the pipe but not on the bell end, a resin impregnated surfacing mat formed coaxially along the length of the exposed first fiberglass strand reinforced layer on the bell end and along the core layer, and an outer resin reinforced roving layer formed coaxially along the full length of the pipe, the composite pipe being cured to form a high strength pipe having uniform radial stiffness and improved resistance to water migration.

  • Patent number: 4243075
Abstract: A composite reinforced plastic pipe and method of making the same are disclosed wherein a resin impregnated surfacing mat is formed into a tubular inner liner on a mandrel or the like, a plurality of resin impregnated continuous fiberglass strands are helically wound upon the inner liner to form an inner layer, a sand-resin composition is applied onto the inner layer to form a tubular core, and an outer layer of resin impregnated continuous fiberglass strands are helically wound upon the tubular core whereafter the composite pipe is cured to provide a pipe having high resistance to internal and external pressures.
