  • Publication number: 20240070331
Abstract: Systems, methods, and software for filtering components, such as hardware components, compatible with computer-modeled structures are presented. A compatible components system provides selection methods that present components compatible with computer-aided design (CAD) models designed in computer modeling software. The system executes methods designed to filter components made available to designers using attribute information of the features and attribute information of the components. Designers may interact with the compatibility methods numerous times, narrowing components through a series or number of filtering steps until a desired compatible component is easily selected. The computer modeling software may include graphical user interfaces for selecting component source locations, filtering types of components presented by the system, and adding components to CAD models.

  • Patent number: 8695946
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a receptacle defining therethrough a central bore and a pair of opposed slots extending from the central bore. The apparatus has a support surface surrounding in part the central bore and slots. The appartus further has a stud assembly comprising a stud and an engagement pin extending orthogonally to the stud. The stud is removably inserted into the central bore and raised such that the pin passes through the slots. The stud is then rotated such that the pin rests on the support surface. The apparatus also has a pulley assembly attached to the stud assembly.

  • Publication number: 20040096553
Abstract: The invention is a cone drip guard formed from a flat sheet of material, or “blank”. The drip guard has an inner edge and an outer edge defining a hole in the blank through which an ice cream cone may be received. Finger-like projections known as “cone-gripping tabs” extend around the hole in the blank for gripping an ice cream cone and keeping the drip guard in place around a circumference of the cone while an ice cream cone is being consumed. The cone-gripping tabs include bend lines that enable the cone-gripping tabs to engage cones of various sizes. The invention further includes a collar around the cone-gripping tabs that extends outwardly to form a barrier between an upper portion of the ice cream cone and a lower portion of the ice cream cone. The barrier prevents dripping ice cream from falling on the consumer's hands or clothing.

  • Patent number: 5448603
Abstract: A fluid detector (20) has an enclosure (32) defining an internal chamber (33). The enclosure has a frangible wall portion (34). A sensor (46) is arranged within the chamber. The sensor has a hygroscopic portion (48), the electrical resistance of which changes depending upon whether the sensor portion is wet or dry. The chamber is normally filled with a dry fluid, such as nitrogen. The outer surface of the enclosure is exposed to another fluid containing water. When the pressure differential across the frangible wall portion exceeds a predetermined minimum value, the frangible wall portion ruptures to permit the sensor portion to become wetted. An ammeter (31) is arranged to determine the change in the electrical resistance of the sensor and to indicate the presence of the water-containing fluid within the chamber. The detector is particularly useful in determining the fluid-tight sealed integrity of a closed-end thimble having a portion inserted into a pressurized water reactor.

  • Patent number: 4877093
Abstract: A spring actuated guide system for a top driven drilling machine. Rollers for guiding the drilling machine are mounted onto springs which urge the rollers into contact with support surfaces on parallel tracks within a derrick. If the tracks become misaligned, the springs allow for the misalignment with low roller loads thereby providing limited rotational movement of the drilling machine relative to the tracks. Premature failure of the roller bearings is prevented and wear on the rollers and tracks is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4813498
Abstract: An active counterbalance for suspending a power swivel from a traveling block. The power swivel includes a motor drive assembly for rotating a drill string and a handling system for supporting a drill pipe. The counterbalance includes a motor which provides means for biasing the load capacity of the counterbalance when supporting the power swivel to allow vertical displacement of the power swivel relative to the traveling block. The counterbalance prevents damage to connecting or sealing surfaces when adding pipe to or removing pipe from the drill string because most of the weight of the power swivel and pipe suspending from the handling system is transferred to the counterbalance.

  • Patent number: 4809792
Abstract: A top driven driling unit including a motor drive assembly for rotating a drill string and a handling system for supporting the drill string. The motor drive assembly includes a drill motor, a swivel bearing for supporting the load of the drill string during drilling and a sub assembly for connecting the drill motor to the drill string. The handling system includes a housing for supporting the swivel bearing, a handling ring, a stem for supporting the load of the drill string during tripping, an elevator, elevator links for supporting the elevator from the handling ring, a traveling block, and support links for supporting the housing from the traveling block. The structural relationship between the handling ring, the stem, and the housing provides an alternative load path for elevator loads during tripping or when running well casing liner that bypasses the swivel bearing.

  • Patent number: 4649258
Abstract: The service life of torches used for water injection plasma arc cutting and like water cooled devices is increased by treating cooling and injection water of high dissolved solids content so as to lower the dissolved solids content of the water until its Ryznar Stability Index is in the range of about 5.5 to about 7.5.

  • Patent number: 4429459
Abstract: A compliant terminal pin for use in electrical connectors for housings or circuit boards and the like which is press fitted into position and is retained in the connector housing, printed circuit board or the like by means of a friction fit. The terminal includes a rigid post at one end and a resilient spring contact structure at the other end thereof. The contact structure and the post are joined by an intermediate section having an aperture therethrough and a lance or tyne extending outwardly from the bottom of the aperture, the tyne being fittable into the aperture but being of smaller dimension. The intermediate section is a spring member having tapered sides with the narrow portion of the taper extending toward the post. The intermediate section can move inwardly from both sides by spring type action to occupy a portion of the aperture, thereby decreasing the dimension across the intermediate section.

  • Patent number: 4171856
Abstract: A post receiving receptacle having its blank form resemble a cross has a bottom surface with a pair of bowed contact arms bent upwardly from said bottom surface and facing each other to receive a terminal post therebetween. The top ends of the two contacts form a flared opening to facilitate post entry. A second pair of arms are bent upwardly from said bottom surface at right angles to said first pair of arms. The second pair of arms have their top ends bent outwardly to form a pair of ears which are to be bonded to conductive epoxy circuit traces on the surface of a substrate provided with a recess which wedgingly receives said receptacle. The sides of the hole provide a variable overstress support for the receptacle.
