The method involves a determination of the length of the row of racks, assembling a stop rail device to extend that length, and mounting the stop rail device from the respective racks the desired distance lateral of the racks. A pair of integral stop rail devices may be spaced laterally apart to block encroachment of pallets supported on adjacent rows of pallets into a flue space defined between the pair.
