  • Patent number: 6460301
Abstract: An insulated glass fiber reinforced concrete/steel wall section containing at least two steel wall studs and two end plates, the end plates having their ends joined to ends of the steel wall studs to form a wall section frame; a glass fiber reinforced concrete panel having a front side facing away from the wall studs and a back side facing toward the wall studs and having a plurality of bonding pads on its back side; a plurality of straps having a first and a second end, the first ends being insulated and positioned in the bonding pads and the second ends being connected to the wall studs; and, insulation positioned between the back side of the glass fiber reinforced panel and the steel wall studs. In one variation, no insulation is positioned between the back side of the glass fiber reinforced concrete panels and the steel wall studs. A method for fabricating the wall sections is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6430794
Abstract: A system for crimping metal sheets and a female die designed for use in crimping metal sheets. According to the present invention, a female die for use by interaction with a male die to join metal sheets together by interaction of the dies to cut or slice through the sheets to form portions of the metal sheets which are spread by material flow by the interaction of the dies to prevent separation of the metal sheets is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4754776
Abstract: Pressure fluid control valves include modular body structures made up of a plurality of end to end connected body parts which are preferably finish fabricated by injection molding of thermoplastic. An axially movable closure member is supported in coaxial bores formed in the assembled body parts and is characterized by a cylindrical plug engageable with opposed conical seat surfaces on adjacent body parts or spaced apart closure disks engageable with respective seat surfaces on a common body part to form a fluid-tight seal between inlet and exhaust ports and a working fluid transfer port, respectively. The closure plug or disks are molded of relatively soft plastic such as polyurethane and the closure plug may be molded directly on the closure member shaft. The shaft is supported by a differential area flexible rolling diaphragm or resilient sealed piston pilot actuator at one end and a mechanical actuator such as coil spring or other types of mechanism at the opposite end.

  • Patent number: 4567688
Abstract: A pneumatically actuated animal trap comprising a trap cage having a movable closure wall which is secured in an open position by a latch mechanism connected to an actuating rod which is connected to a piston and cylinder type pneumatic actuator. The pneumatic actuator is in communication with a pressure air filled storage vessel supported on the trap cage and connected to a pilot operated control valve which is actuated to valve pressure fluid to the pneumatic actuator in response to engagement of a triggering mechanism by an animal to be captured in the trap. The storage vessel and control circuit are self contained and adapted for remote, long term unattended operation.

  • Patent number: 4483094
Abstract: A power operated rodent exterminating apparatus includes a pneumatic actuator for moving a pivotally mounted striking bar from a retracted position to a striking position and automatically returning to a retracted position. A detector plate is mounted on the apparatus frame in the path of the movement of the striking bar to a striking position in contact with a portion of the frame. Ejector mechanism including pivotally mounted opposed gate members are operable upon retraction of the striking bar to sweep the detector plate to clear a rodent therefrom. A control circuit is operable to sequentially effect actuation of the striking bar and the ejector mechanism and to repeatedly cycle the ejector mechanism until the detector mechanism is reset.

  • Patent number: 4422835
Abstract: A pneumatically actuated diaphragm type metering pump is controlled by a pneumatic control circuit including a pilot actuated two position valve for pressurizing and venting the pump power piston chamber and which is controlled by a second pilot actuated two position valve. Timing chambers and a flow control valve in the control circuit operate to vary the frequency of the pumping cycle. The control circuit is included in a manifold assembly made up of a series of circular plate members assembled in staked relationship and including all of the fluid passages of the control circuit as well as the pneumatic timing chambers. The manifold assembly is mounted directly on an end wall of the pump body which provides for a single control fluid inlet passage and a single discharge passage for venting control and power piston fluid from the pump.

  • Patent number: 4349980
Abstract: A rodent exterminating apparatus having a frame on which a pivotally mounted striking bar is operable to be moved from a retracted position to a striking position by a pneumatic actuator including a one way spring return rolling diaphragm operated plunger. The actuator is operated by a pneumatic control circuit which senses the presence of a rodent to cause a fast acting valve to direct pressure air to the actuator from a reservoir chamber which is formed as part of the actuator. The control circuit includes a pneumatic time delay device which automatically moves the control valve to reset the striking bar after a predetermined period of time commencing with deactivation of a trigger or proximity sensor in the control circuit.
