  • Patent number: 7987619
Abstract: A shoe is provided with a writing surface so that temporary expressive indicia can be applied to the shoe. The writing surface is preferably in the form of a side surface of the shoe extending between a tread and a foot contacting surface of the shoe. The side surface is preferably formed of patent leather compatible with a dry erase marker provided as a writing implement. In a most preferred form of the invention, the shoe includes a bore which acts as a housing for the marker or other writing implement to conveniently store the writing implement when not in use. The bore or other housing also keeps the writing implement fresh by sealing the writing implement within the bore when not in use, especially when the writing implement is a dry erase marker.

  • Publication number: 20090294499
Abstract: The bag includes a carrier implement such as straps for a backpack, at least one interior compartment and an outer panel defining a portion of an exterior of the bag. This outer panel is formed of a material which can receive ink in a removably attachable fashion, such that the outer panel can be decorated with a writing implement and decorations can be removed and modified. In one embodiment the outer panel is formed of patent leather with the writing implement in the form of a dry erase marker. A backing panel is provided inboard of the outer panel to add rigidity to the outer panel and facilitate writing thereon. Stitching around a perimeter of the outer panel joins the outer panel to the backing panel, as well as an inner liner to hold the outer panel securely in place.
