  • Patent number: 8648654
Abstract: An integrated circuit has a first and second voltage supply rails with first and second voltage levels and a gated voltage supply rail. Each of the circuit elements is connected either between the first and second voltage supply rails or between the gated rail and the second voltage rail. A source circuit structure comprising one or more circuit elements provides an input signal maintained at a static value during a power gated mode of operation. At least one recipient circuit structure requires receipt of the input signal at the static value during the power gated mode of operation. A distribution network comprises a first subset of circuit elements which pull their output to the first voltage level then the input signal has the static value, and a second subset of circuit elements which pull their output to the second voltage level when the input signal has the static value.

  • Patent number: 5532907
Abstract: A power bus is described that connects a matrix of power supplies to a circuit board in a computer system. The power bus is substantially planar and attached to the circuit board so that the power bus and circuit board are parallel to one another. This parallel relationship decreases the amount of space utilized by the circuit board in the computer system. The circuit board also has connectors for delivering power directly to a load which increases the efficiency of power delivery.

  • Patent number: 5277814
Abstract: A method for aerobically treating water-containing organic wastes is provided. This process may be conducted in a closed reactor with suitable controls to prevent any adverse environmental impact, and involves mixing the wastes with an inert and non-friable bulking agent comprising a substantial component having a density less than water in the presence of an active biomass. An oxygen-containing gas is passed through the reaction mixture to assist in the removal of excess (free) water from the wastes to form a wetted high solids content reaction mixture containing the waste solids mixed in a bed of bulking agent. Effective aerobic reaction conditions are employed to convert the wastes to a treated waste.

  • Patent number: 5207912
Abstract: A method for aerobically treating a low solids water-containing oily sludge which comprises combining said sludge with a biologically inert, non-friable bulking agent characterized by having a substantial component with a density less than water to form a mixture, passing an oxygen-containing gas through said mixture to separate excess water and form a high solids content reaction mixture, reacting said high solids content reaction mixture in the presence of an aerobic biomass under effective aerobic conditions to form a treated sludge and an active biomass-coated bulking agent component having a density less than water in said high solids content reaction mixture, separating said biomass-coated bulking agent component from said treated sludge, and recovering said treated sludge from said reaction mixture has been provided.

  • Patent number: 4367632
Abstract: A door operating mechanism for use with refrigerated display cases in which provision is made for one or more circulated air bands and an air defrost means. The door operating mechanism functions to selectively create a gap between the barrier door and the associated access opening of the case to carry out defrosting and to also permit the gap to be closed by the application of outside force. A motion take-up means is provided within the door operating mechanism to permit closing of a door through the operation of a flexing means which is preferably a compression spring. Temporary closing of the door gap by customers and employees is operatively provided for by the door operating mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4299099
Abstract: A refrigeration system having an open front display portion and a rear storage portion. The display portion has a plurality of shelves that are accessible through an opening in the front of the display portion. Access to the shelves also can be obtained from the rear storage portion of the system. A cooling unit is provided that includes a fan and two sets of refrigerating coils. The cooling unit provides refrigerated air from one set of coils to an air conduit for establishing a primary air curtain across the front of the display portion. The refrigerated air from the other set of coils is supplied to an air conduit which in turn supplies the air to the storage portion. A second air curtain is also provided across the front of the display portion; this secondary air curtain extends along a path positioned towards the outside of the display portion with respect to the primary air curtain. A return path for the air from the primary and secondary air curtain is provided along the bottom of the display portion.

  • Patent number: 4117697
Abstract: A commercial refrigerator, having an open front display section and a rear storage section in which first air circulating fans draw air from the storage section and propells it through refrigeration coils to a bifurcated conduit for which directs at least some refrigerated air propelled by the first fans through the refrigeration coils along a first path directly into the storage section and for directing other refrigerated air propelled by the first fans through the coils along a second path directly across the open front of the display section to form an inner air curtain; return fans are provided for directing the downstream end of the inner air curtain along the floor of the display section and into the storage section; a second set of air circulating fans are provided in a further conduit for directing air around the exterior of the storage and display sections and across the access opening to form an outer air curtain; and a divider is provided which separates the display and storage sections, the divid
