  • Patent number: 4763964
Abstract: A control panel door is mounted to the front grille panel of an air conditioning system in such a way as to allow it to be opened by first pivoting it to an oblique position and then sliding it to a position behind the front grille panel. Provision is made for easily assembling the door to its supporting track structure while at the same time preventing its accidental disassembly when opening the door. • Patent number: 4651959
Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for mounting an air conditioner in a wall opening with a single bracket attached to the lower wall and extending upwardly into the wall opening. The air conditioning housing is formed with a lip on its upper surface to engage the inner surface of the upper wall, and an indent on its lower wall to receive the upwardly extending bracket when the air conditioner slips down into its installed position. Means are provided to secure the bracket to the air conditioner housing to prevent removal of the system from outside the building.

  • Patent number: 4553405
Abstract: A vent assembly for use in an air conditioning unit is disclosed. The vent assembly extends from the condenser fan shroud to the partition for directing air at a relatively higher condenser fan pressure through the vent assembly to the indoor section wherein the evaporator fan circulates the air to the indoor section to be conditioned. The vent assembly is an integral self-contained portion capable of being easily inserted within an existing unit for effecting desired airflow control.

  • Patent number: 4480533
Abstract: A vent door control apparatus for use in an air conditioner that permits both manual and automatic positioning of the vent door. A series of push button function switches are arranged to move in contact with a series of cams to automatically unlatch the door when certain functions are selected. At least some of the cams are programable to permit the user to select which functions will be carried out without adding outside air to the conditioned air. The vent door can be further manually operated to open the door anytime an unprogramed function is selected.
