    Abstract: An impact barrier provides an impact absorbing wall surface for racecar tracks. The present invention comprises a car-contacting panel having a top edge and a bottom edge. The steel wall bottom edge is disposed in a groove at the periphery of a roadway and a bladder contacts the steel wall. In the case of a car hitting the impact barrier the bladder would deflate and absorb some of the force of the impact.
