  • Patent number: 4102044
Abstract: A hair trapping member for use in electric shavers is disclosed. The member is designed to be mounted on a shaver blade of the type having a recessed central trough-like channel and a plurality of laterally extending, closely spaced cutter bars on each side. The bars, lengthwise of the blade, are separated by laterally extending slots which open both through the sides of the blade and into the central channel. The hair trapping member has an elongated channel-like body element sized to seat in the central channel of the blade. A plurality of laterally projecting tongues extend from each side of the body element, one of the tongues being adapted to be received in each of the slots for trapping and holding hairs entering the slots.

  • Patent number: 4028799
Abstract: A sharpener apparatus for an electric shaver of the type having cooperable cutting elements including a cutting head equipped with one or more motor driven cutting blades. The sharpener is positioned between the shear plate and blade and includes a thin sheet having an abrasive material thereon suitable for sharpening the blade or for engagement with and honing the inner surface of the shear plate. In one embodiment, the thin sheet is of size and shape that it is held by the ends of the shaver housing when sharpening the blade. In another embodiment, means are included on the thin sheet for holding the thin sheet on and for movement with the cutting blade to recondition or hone the head. In either embodiment, operation of the shaver's blade drive motor will drive the cutter blade while it either engages the abrasive surface as in the first embodiment or in the second embodiment moves the abrasive surface over the head.

  • Patent number: 4003130
Abstract: A panel-like member is provided for an electric shaver which seats against the inside surfaces of the shaver screen which panel has a top surface positioned at or just below the upper shearing plane of the blade. The top surface of the panel positions the hairs as they enter the screen and blade such that they will be sheared by the blade.

  • Patent number: 3935638
Abstract: The disclosed invention is an accessory for an electric shaver of the type having a removable cutting head equipped with one or more motor driven cutting blades. The accessory has a rigid body provided with a cutting blade receiving pocket or recess. The top face of the pocket is closed and has exposed to the cutting blade an abrasive material suitable for sharpening the blade. The body is of a size and shape that it may be interchanged with all or a portion of the cutting head on the razor and permits engagement between the razor's drive mechanism and a cutter blade while the same is engaged with the abrasive material so that operation of the razor's blade drive will drive the cutter blade while it engages the abrasive surface.
