Patent number: 8657485Abstract: An agricultural mixer includes a hydraulic drive system. The mixer includes an automatic jam-resolving feature, whereby if an auger becomes jammed, the drive system will cause the auger to rotate in a reverse direction for a period of time to resolve the jam. The hydraulic drive system will maintain a speed of rotation of the auger at a relatively constant rate during mixing while choosing an efficient displacement setting for the hydraulic motor. The auger is maintained at a constant speed during a discharge mode by maintaining the motor in a maximum displacement setting. A clean-out mode is provided wherein the auger is rotated at a maximum speed to aid in cleaning out the last remaining feed mixture in the mixer.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2010Date of Patent: February 25, 2014Assignee: Roto-Mix, LLCInventors: Rodney R. Neier, Allin L. Butcher, James E. Shafer, Ross M. Groening

Publication number: 20110121114Abstract: The invention relates to a mixer that includes at least one multi-flighted auger for mixing together materials, especially livestock feed. The multi-flighted auger rotates about a generally vertical axis. The flights include a kicker knife at the bottom and chopper knives around their periphery. The upper surface of the flights may be perpendicular to a shaft about which the auger rotates, or may be concave or slanted generally upwardly to encourage the material being mixed to remain in contact with the auger.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 24, 2009Publication date: May 26, 2011Applicant: ROTO-MIX, LLCInventors: RODNEY R. Patent number: 7191965Abstract: A material spreader includes a belt/chain assembly. The belt is mounted within the chamber of the material spreader and the chain remains out of contact with the material during the operation of the device. A sliding barrier is mounted at the rear of the belt, and moves from a forward position adjacent the front of the spreader to a rear position adjacent the rear of the spreader. One form of the hydraulic system utilizes a sensor for built up pressure within independently driven augers. In response to this pressure build up the sliding barrier speed is reduced.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2005Date of Patent: March 20, 2007Assignee: Roto-Mix, LLCInventors: Benjamin R. Patent number: 4922517Abstract: An interface system for interfacing a standard telephone set with a radio transceiver as part of a telephone network is provided. The radio transceiver may be a conventional cellular-type transceiver or other transceiver having typical control inputs and outputs similar to that provided by cellular transceivers. The interface system converts tone-dial or pulse-dial inputs from the telephone into a serial data stream for storage in the transceiver. The interface system automatically determines when the last numeral or digit is dialed and provides a send signal to the transceiver when such determination is made. The system responds to incoming call signals, such as alert signals, from the transceiver and rings the telephone accordingly. The system simulates ring and dial-tone type signals under conditions typical of standard telephone set usage.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1988Date of Patent: May 1, 1990Assignee: Metrofone, Inc.Inventors: William L. West, Jr., James E. Shafer

Patent number: 4868519Abstract: An amplifier circuit having an FET connected in series with a resistor coupled to a constant voltage source, coupled between a pair of amplifiers, such as audio amplifiers in a two-stage amplifying circuit. The FET specifically and directly determines the amount of gain of the two-stage amplifier, or the like. R.sub.DS of the FET is continually monitored by its connection to one input of an amplifier serving as a comparator, with the other input thereof serving as a reference voltage derived from a modulated signal emanating from a microprocessor. Each of the signals V.sub.DS, and the reference from the microprocessor is filtered through a low pass filter to remove the audio, or other cyclical signals, and, in the latter case, in order to provide a substantially constant reference voltage to the input of the comparator. The output of the comparator is coupled to an RC circuit, the capacitor thereof being continually charged and discharged in response to the state of the output of the comparator.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 1988Date of Patent: September 19, 1989Assignee: DNIC Brokerage CompanyInventor: James E. Patent number: 4737975Abstract: A programmable interface system for interfacing a standard telephone set with a radio transceiver as part of a telephone network is provided. The radio transceiver may be a conventional cellular-type transceiver or other transceiver having typical control inputs and outputs similar to that provided by cellular transceivers. The programmable interface system converts tone-dial or pulse-dial inputs from the telephone into a serial data stream for storage in the transceiver. The programmable interface system can be programmed to automatically determine when the last numeral or digit is dialed for a particular area telephone system and provides a send signal to the transceiver when such determination is made. The system responds to incoming call signals, such as alert signals, from the transceiver and rings the telephone accordingly. The system simulates ring and dial-tone type signals under conditions typical of standard telephone set usage.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1986Date of Patent: April 12, 1988Assignee: Metrofone, Inc.Inventor: James E. Patent number: 4480555Abstract: A hydraulic stabilizing device utilized to dampen the sway of railway cars comprising a double acting hydraulic cylinder having a center position wherein the fluid is locked in the opposing chambers of the cylinder except for high pressure relief once the piston is forced out of the center position as the railway car traverses a curve. Longitudinal groove means in the cylinder barrel opens up a restricted bypass across the cylinder piston so as to allow a conventional dampening function at all other positions of the cylinder except the center position. The stabilizer cylinder also includes a concentrically spaced sleeve surrounding the cylinder forming a precharged accumulator chamber for resupplying either of the cylinder chambers through check valves in the cylinder heads.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1979Date of Patent: November 6, 1984Assignee: The Cessna Aircraft CompanyInventors: James E.
