Abstract: A gingerbread structure includes at least first and second gingerbread cookie panels, and a box-like support structure that includes at least first and second side panels that meet at an angle at a corner, wherein: inner surfaces of the first and second gingerbread cookie panels are adhered to flat surfaces of the first and second side panels by first and second amounts of edible icing in orientations that cause side edges of the first and second gingerbread cookie panels to extend adjacent to and parallel to the corner; and to extend adjacent to and parallel to each other to enable the side edges to be adhered to each other by depositing a third amount of edible icing along and therebetween.

Abstract: Gingerbread structures are constructed from baked gingerbread components that typically include both upstanding wall components, and roof components that overlie some of the upstanding wall components. The present invention also relates 1) to substantially rigid clips installed to underlie, grip, connect and/or strengthen elongate joints formed between adjacent pairs of the gingerbread components; and 2) to gingerbread structures constructed from the baked gingerbread components and the substantially rigid clips. Construction of gingerbread structures is assisted by the use of the substantially rigid clips that also help to hold adjacent pairs of gingerbread components in desired assembled orientations while lines of icing set up to bond adjacent pairs of the gingerbread components that define elongate joints of the gingerbread structures.

Abstract: Substantially rigid clips are disclosed that are configured to engage, to connect, to underlie, to overlie, to grip, and/or to assist in holding in desired assembled orientation selected gingerbread components of gingerbread structures—as well as gingerbread structures that are built using one or more of, or sets of, the substantially rigid clips. Methods of assembly of gingerbread structures are disclosed, as well as a bridging clip that has substantially identical opposed end regions connected by an elongate central region.

Abstract: A kit includes a plurality of food ingredients to form at least a part of an edible construction, and a plurality of low voltage electrical components able to be electrically coupled and assembled with the edible construction to visually enhance the edible construction. Among the electrical components may be a base that provides a substantially flat support surface on which the edible construction may be positioned and an overlay sheet to overlie the support surface and visually present indicia indicating at least one location at which a portion of the edible construction or electrical components such as lighting or audio components may be positioned.
