  • Patent number: 11628015
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods to perform a surgical procedure. The systems and methods utilize MRI-compatible fiducial markers including a body having at least one feature configured to receive an MRI-compatible and MRI-visible material and to allow registration of a navigational tool. The MRI-compatible fiducial markers can be affixed to a bone of a patient. The registered navigational tool can be used to advance a surgical tool along a navigational path to perform a surgical procedure.

  • Publication number: 20170035525
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for performing surgery on a patient's skull or brain. A mounting and stabilization device is provided for frameless, trajectory-based laser ablation surgery. The device employs a simple aiming mechanic and can be used to treat patients such as pediatric patients that cannot be treated with other devices and methods.

  • Publication number: 20150011868
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to an MRI-compatible fiducial marker assembly and methods of use in planning and conducting brain surgery. This invention relates to the field of anatomic orientation and positioning, particularly in relation to an implement for effectively and efficiently defining an anatomic orientation and position for conducting surgical resection of a patient's brain.

  • Publication number: 20150011866
Abstract: Disclosed is a probe for use in conjunction with a surgical navigation platform to transform image sequences from multiple imaging modalities into a uniform coordinate system, stacking 2D image sequences into 3D image voxels. Image volumes are aligned, spatially co-registering each image volume to a base anatomical image volume, segmented to generate new image volumes for creating aspects of the image.

  • Publication number: 20150011877
Abstract: An imageable fiducial marker includes a base formed from a material transparent to radiation from an imaging source and a pair of fiducial elements fixed to the base at a preselected separation. A bracket temporarily secures the marker to a skull of a human for intra-operative scanning in neurosurgery procedures, wherein only three fiducial pairs provide for reliable surgical navigation.

  • Publication number: 20140303486
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a surgical planning and navigation system imports multiple medical imaging sources of the same body part for integrated display in the same coordinate. Images are converted into 3D volumes, spatially co-registering each image volume to a base anatomical image.
