  • Patent number: 6736975
Abstract: The invention relates to methods of separating compounds of interest from mixtures using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). An initial separation of a sample of a mixture is performed to predict a retention time and elution time for the compound of interest on a preparative scale HPLC column and, optionally, to verify that an expected compound of interest is present in the mixture. Preparative scale HPLC is then used to separate and collect at least a portion of the compound from the mixture using the predicted elution time of the compound.
