  • Patent number: 11144899
Abstract: Cameras capture time-stamped images of customers, carts, and items possessed by the customers. Customer queues at checkout stations/transaction terminals are monitored for queue lengths, opened terminals, closed terminals, and a total number of items possessed by each customer within each queue. Queue wait times are calculated for each queue and the queue wait times are displayed on monitors adjacent to the queues. Customers approaching the checkout stations are directed to specific queues based on the queue wait times. Closed terminals are opened in advance of a time when a shortest expected wait time for the queues is expected to exceed a threshold wait time. In an embodiment, each queue length is managed based on staff performance metrics associated with staff operating the terminals.

  • Publication number: 20210227066
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an access control apparatus for a barrier movement system that moves a barrier. The access control apparatus includes a near field communications (NFC) module, a radiofrequency (RF) module, and a controller coupled to the NFC module and RF module. The controller is configured to read an NFC signal from an authenticated external device, via the NFC module. In response to reading the NFC signal, the controller transmits a command signal, via the RF module, that commands the barrier movement system to move the barrier.

  • Publication number: 20210158429
Abstract: Various embodiments herein each include at least one of systems, methods, software, apps, and visualizations for floorspace management. In particular, some embodiments leverage mobile shopping and other technologies to identify when and where a customer selects items within a retail space and completes the purchase. This data is then stored and visualizations are generated from this data for areas and periods. Such embodiments enable identification of well-performing and under-performing areas of retail space based on criteria pertinent to the particular user.

  • Patent number: 10809018
Abstract: Two side channels are for mounting the first heat exchanger. Each side channel defines a back and two side walls protruding from the back. An elongate member is at each end of a tank of the first heat exchanger. Each elongate member extends through the tank and being attached at each end to one of the side walls of one of the two channels so that the elongate member spans the channel to mount the first heat exchanger to the channel. The tank includes a recessed region between two parts of the tank and the elongate member extends through an aperture defined in each of the parts, such that an exposed portion of the elongate member is outside the tank. The second heat exchanger is mounted to the exposed portions of two elongate members of the first heat exchanger via connecting unit.

  • Patent number: 9562967
Abstract: A method of controlling a radar system by: receiving a radar return signal from a target and generating a range-Doppler target image signature of the target; selecting a spectral line within the range-Doppler target image signature from a modulation feature on the target which includes an effective point scatterer; providing a range profile for the spectral line; obtaining a reference range profile of a reference point scatterer; and determining a difference between a power at a range shorter than a peak corresponding to the modulation feature in the range profile and a power at a corresponding range of the reference range profile. The method may further include controlling provision of the range-Doppler target image signature based on the difference.
