Abstract: Disclosed are baby formula compositions and methods of making thereof. In some embodiments, the baby formula composition includes at least one goat milk isolate or goat milk derivative, such as at a concentration of approximately 40% to 80% by weight, and a variety of other added nutritional components, such as added lactose and one or more added oils that provide at least one of unsaturated fats or medium-chain fatty acids. The baby formula composition can be provided as a powder, to be mixed with water, drink, or food and fed to a baby or toddler, or it can be provided as a liquid. The baby formula composition can include about 40-80% by combined weight of at least one goat milk isolate or goat milk derivative. The weight ratio of at least one goat milk isolate or goat milk derivative to added lactose can be at least about 1.5:1 and/or a weight ratio of goat milk isolate or derivative to one or more added oils can be at least about 1.9:1.
