  • Publication number: 20140273707
Abstract: A toy system for demolishing a toy structure comprises a plurality of panels combinable to form a toy structure, a device for displacing one or more of the panels that have been combined to form a toy structure, and a controller for triggering the device. The device of the toy system is positionable anywhere relative to the toy structure, and includes a ram that is forced against a panel to displace the panel. The ram may be a variety of different sizes, and the device may include any number of rams. The toy system allows a user to knock down an assembled toy structure in many different ways by varying the number of devices used, the number of rams per device engaged, the velocity of each ram, and the position of the device, as well as other factors.

  • Publication number: 20100176582
Abstract: A book includes a model assembly made from a plurality of model components attached to respective pages. The model can be a human body or anything desired. When the book is closed, the model components combine to form a completely assembled model assembly. When the book is open, and as a reader turns each page, the model components attached to the respective page separate from the model assembly revealing other components that remain combined to form a partially assembled model assembly. The components can be fixedly or hingedly attached to respective pages with connectors. If hingedly attached, the model components can be separated from the model assembly without turning a respective page.

  • Patent number: 6508488
Abstract: The invention provides a book containing a three dimensional model assembly made from a plurality of model components attached to respective pages in the book. The model can be a human body or anything desired. When the book is closed, the model components combine to form a completely assembled model assembly that is thinner than the book. Thus, the book can lie flat on either its front or back cover on a flat surface. When the book is open, and as a reader turns each page, the model components attached to the respective page separate from the model assembly revealing other components that remain combined to form a partially assembled model assembly. The components can be fixedly or hingedly attached to respective pages with bars, flaps or both. If hingedly attached, the model components can be separated from the model assembly without turning a respective page.

  • Patent number: 5339354
Abstract: For a single telephone line having plural telephone answering devices (TADs) connected to it, a system of TADs is disclosed where only one TAD answers the telephone but all other TADs connected to the telephone line are accessible and activated by means of tones transmitted over the telephone line by the caller. The caller is notified by the answering TAD of the available tone codes which are then used to select the desired TAD. When a TAD is selected by means of tones, the first TAD is temporarily disconnected from the telephone line so that message privacy is maintained.

  • Patent number: 4932679
Abstract: A book having two bindings with multiple pages and two covers comprises a single sheet which is folded in an accordion fashion. The bindings are located at the leftmost and rightmost sides of the book while fasteners associated with each binding allow the book to be opened from either side.

  • Patent number: 4850924
Abstract: A low profile rolling book comprising plural sheets, bound along one marginal edge. In the preferred embodiment, the book's front cover includes printed matter depicting the top view of a wheeled vehicle having wheel wells disposed adjacent the parallel opposing top and bottom edges of the book. Respective wheels are rotatably mounted at each of the wheel wells.

  • Patent number: 4844476
Abstract: This apparatus is used with a video tape of a scene that includes a target. At least part of the target has selected interlace fields removed, so that when the scene is displayed a distinctive periodic sequence of light pulses is associated with that target. An unmodified, standard video cassette machine plays the tape into a similarly unmodified television receiver to display the scene, particularly including omission of the selected fields in each target. A response module--with no connection to or from, and no output to, either the tape player or the receiver--includes a detector, an imaging system, a sight, circuitry, and a trigger. The imaging system receives light from a limited portion of the displayed scene, and directs that light to the detector. The sight aids a user to point the imaging system toward a particular desired scene portion. The circuitry develops an output signal related to the light on the detector.

  • Patent number: 4490123
Abstract: A whistle is integrally formed from the pages of a children's book. Apertures are formed in adjacent, interior pages, and the apertures are positioned to overlap to form a resonant cavity. A slot is provided in one of the interior pages to provide an air inlet passage through which air may be blown into the resonant cavity. The cover of the book has an opening which forms an air outlet passage, through which air from the resonant cavity is exhausted. In operation, the pages of the book are pressed tightly together to seal the resonant cavity and prevent air leakage therefrom. To facilitate such sealing, the book includes printed matter indicating the general location in which the child should place his fingers when pressing the pages together.

  • Patent number: 4487590
Abstract: A children's book includes printed matter which cooperates with structural features of the book. The printed matter depicts, e.g. a scene from the driver's seat of a vehicle, including, e.g., as a steering wheel and instrument panel. Openings are formed, adjacent to the edge of the steering wheel, within the area bounded by such wheel, so that a child can place his fingers through those openings and, in effect, grasp the steering wheel. The child, therefore, can imagine himself as guiding the vehicle with the steering wheel as he reads the book.
