  • Publication number: 20150134505
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a computer for coordinating an electronic credit application between an Internet user and a plurality of lending institutions via the Internet. This method involves displaying documents in a web site, and receiving credit data forming placed on the web site. After receiving this data a special loan processing computer applies a filter to the data. The filter comprises loan selection criteria provided by lending institutions which allows these institutions to filter out loan applications that they do not want. Next, after the data is filtered, it is transmitted to a plurality of lending institutions. Finally, the computer and the method then controls and coordinates communication between these lending institutions and the Internet user to match borrowers and lenders via the Internet.

  • Publication number: 20110249429
Abstract: Disclosed herein are viewing kits that can be assembled and coupled to visual content sources, such as e-readers, to facilitate viewing visual content. Example viewing kits include a viewing aid, which may include a light, lens, filter, or other implement, and an interchangeable fastener that can be removably coupled to the viewing aid using a slot-and-key interface or other suitable coupling mechanism. Either the fastener alone, or the fastener coupled together with the viewing aid, provides a deformable cavity that is shaped to clamp onto an edge of the e-reader. Inserting the e-reader into the cavity causes the fastener, which is made of resilient material, to bend outwards. In response, the fastener exerts a pinching force on the e-reader, creating a pressure fit that connects the viewing aid securely to the e-reader.

  • Patent number: 7575329
Abstract: A compact and portable device uniformly illuminates and magnifies the words, images, or other information on a surface, such as the words on a page of a book, while minimizing the amount of light transmitted beyond or away from the illuminated surface. The device employs a light transmitting body formed of a transparent light conductive material and a magnifying lens. The device also employs a housing with a light source and a power source for powering the light source. To receive and deflect light from the light source onto the underlying surface, the light transmitting body is configured to have a wedge shape tapering from a thicker edge to a thinner edge. The wedge-shaped light transmitting body and the magnifying lens may be integrally formed to allow seamless transmission of light between the light transmitting body and the magnifying lens.

  • Patent number: 6951403
Abstract: A device for illuminating a generally flat surface essentially without emitting significant light beyond the surface is particularly adapted for use as a book light. The device comprises a battery-operated light source contained within a housing to which a transparent light-conductive illuminating body is mounted in close adjacency to the light source to transmit the light through the illuminating body. The device may be placed with the illuminating body over a book or other flat surface for illuminated viewing through the transparent illuminating body. The illuminating body is tapered in a wedge shape to deflect the conducted light onto the underlying surface.
