  • Patent number: 5716687
Abstract: A fusible adhesive sheet includes a heat-sensitive substrate having a geometrical configuration of intersecting diagonal lines with diamond-shaped voids between the lines. A lattice of pressure-sensitive adhesive is positioned on the substrate and has intersecting diagonal lines with diamond-shaped voids in between the lines in a pattern different from that for the substrate. Removable release liners are provided. In another form, the lattice work of pressure-sensitive adhesive is on a solid substrate of heat-sensitive adhesive. To make the heat-fusible sheet, the heat-sensitive adhesive is fed into the nip between a gravure roller and elastic surfaced roller. The surface of the gravure roller is provided with a series of valleys. The pressure-sensitive adhesive in liquid form is applied to the surface of the gravure roller and deposited onto the heat-sensitive adhesive and cured with heat.

  • Patent number: 5518198
Abstract: Safety cord reel for securing a window-shade cord or the like to prevent its entanglement with a small child. The safety cord reel has a storage reel that is secured to the window-shade cord and is used for receiving a varying amount of the window-shade cord by winding the amount of window-shade cord around the storage reel. The safety cord reel also has a retainer that prevents the window-shade cord from unwinding from the storage reel.

  • Patent number: 4687039
Abstract: A window shade designed to compete in the roller shade and venetian blind market includes a pair of pleated sheets spaced apart in substantially parallel array by top and bottom support members. Each layer includes a vacuum deposited aluminized surface, and the shade layers are arranged so that the corresponding aluminized surfaces face one another within the shade so that the shade has a significant resistance to heat loss or gain, if properly installed, and is decorative and distinctive in appearance.

  • Patent number: 4635410
Abstract: A decorative fabric wall system includes a connecting frame adhesively attached to wall to define an area to be covered and a corresponding stretcher frame of rigid magnetic frame members for magnetically connecting the fabric to the wall-mounted frame. The fabric is adhered to the fabric frame on an adhesive layer over the magnetic strip, and, thereby, covers and conceals the frame. The fabric is sandwiched between the corresponding magnets of the wall and fabric frame members, stretched taut across the predetermined area defined by the frames. A bonded polyester batting insulation with at least one vacuum deposited, aluminized plastic surface to form a vapor/reflective layer is placed within the margin of the framework, and is supported by the fabric.

  • Patent number: 4433019
Abstract: An insulative fabric generally comprises a central sheet of breathable, substantially crinkle-free, pliant, aluminized polymeric film and spaced layers of hollow, microtubular, filamentous synthetic insulation sandwiching the film. The polymeric film has sufficient tensile strength for use as a quilting fabric in quilts, comforters, or clothing, and its tensile strength may be enhanced by use of a scrim backing sheet placed directly adjacent the film. The spaced layers of synthetic insulation are individually needle-punched through the film to reduce the overall thickness of the insulation without substantially reducing the insulative capacity of the fabric and to provide passageways through the film so that the film is breathable. In this manner, the fabric has a soft, fleecy quality, is of a substantially uniform thickness, and is substantially noiseless when folded or wrinkled.

  • Patent number: 4397346
Abstract: A five-layer window shade fabric 100 especially useful in forming a Roman shade which will substantially increase the insulating factor (R) for a glass windowpane has a moisture-, light-, and mildew-resistant exterior layer 10; an insulation layer 12 adjacent the exterior layer; a vapor barrier 14 adjacent the insulation layer to reduce condensation and to trap a layer of air between the barrier and the window; a reflective sheet adjacent the barrier to reflect heat back into the room; and an interior cover fabric 18 adjacent the reflective sheet and chosen to complement the room decor.
