  • Patent number: 7760514
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a fastening support assembly configured to securely connect a first panel above a second panel. The fastening support assembly includes a shaft having a cap at a first end and a distal tip at a second end. The shaft defines an internal chamber. The distal tip is configured to secure to the first panel. A pin is positioned within the internal chamber, wherein movement of the pin into the internal chamber radially expands the shaft. A portion of the shaft and the pin proximate the cap are configured to substantially fill a hole formed through the second panel when the second panel is secured to the fastening support assembly.

  • Patent number: 6821133
Abstract: A printed circuit board mounting system including a panel having an aperture, a mounting clip including a panel support end with a plurality of resilient fingers having corresponding end portions protruding radially outwardly from each other at non-perpendicular angles relative to the panel support end, the mounting clip having a circuit board support end spaced apart from the panel support end by an intermediate portion of the clip, the circuit board support end having a circuit board fastening portion, the plurality of fingers protruding through the panel aperture, some of the clip fingers frictionally engaged with the panel.

  • Patent number: 5934916
Abstract: A rail member and ground clip assembly useable for mechanically and electrically coupling printed circuit boards to a chassis. The assembly has a stud protruding into an electrical contact opening in the rail member, a first end portion of the resilient electrical contact is disposed on a fastener boss proximate the electrical contact opening, a bifurcated curved portion of the resilient electrical contact protrudes at least partially through the electrical contact opening beyond a bottom side of the rail member, and the stud is disposed through an opening in the resilient electrical contact to engagably couple the resilient electrical contact to the rail member. The resilient electrical contact also includes a compression wave portion between the first end portion and the curved portion to bias the curved portion into engagement with the chassis. A non-threaded rivet fastens the rail member to the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5875522
Abstract: A grommet and adjustable strap fastener assembly including an elongate strap member having a head portion at a first end in combination with at least one body member having a first strap aperture for receiving the elongate strap member. A retention member protruding into the first strap aperture of the body member permits adjustable passage of the elongate strap member through the first strap aperture in a first direction. The retention member prevents passage of the elongate strap member through the first strap aperture in a second direction opposite the first direction. According to another aspect of the invention, the body member includes a second strap aperture disposed in a recess wherein the head portion of the elongate strap member is disposable in the recess of the body member when the elongate strap member is disposed through the second strap aperture.

  • Patent number: 5868537
Abstract: The retainer pin includes a plurality of longitudinal rows of radially extending wings about a circumference of a shank. The radially extending wings within any one row are longitudinally offset from longitudinally adjacent wings by a pitch. The wings of circumferentially adjacent rows are offset by a distance equal to one half of the pitch thereby forming a double helix. The double helix configuration of the radially extending wings creates a screw-like configuration which is used to engage a partially threaded aperture.

  • Patent number: 5174486
Abstract: A fluid-driven tool for mechanically driving a spring-grip fastener onto a shaft or rod, which fasteners are automatically insertable within the tool and may be positioned at a predetermined depth upon the shaft by means of a stroke-adjusting device.
