  • Patent number: 5351739
Abstract: A safety net suspended from a shower curtain rod in addition to the shower curtain for safety in the event of a fall. The safety net provides a structure for someone to grasp during the fall to either slow the fall or stop it before injuries occur. The netting is preferably made of NYLON in a strength sufficient to support the weight of an adult, and has a band along one side with a series of grommets attached to it. The rod is made to be stronger than a typical shower rod, preferably of the type that has a channel running lengthwise in it for supporting of a series of carriers. The exposed end of each carrier has a button that will pass through one of the grommets so that the netting can be hung by the grommets from the carriers.

  • Patent number: 5282292
Abstract: A support system for a flexible closure such as a shower curtain comprising a rod with a channel running lengthwise and a plurality of carrier assemblies freely movable within the channel. The carrier assemblies each further comprise a roller assembly and a button assembly, the roller assembly having two wheels joined together by an axle and rolling on rails formed in the rod's channel, and the button assembly having a button and a stop joined by an axle. The roller assembly and button assembly each fit into a different hole in the carrier assembly, the holes both having a large portion and an adjacent smaller portion connected by a tapered passage that forms a keylock to allow the assemblies to be securely seated in the smaller portions.

  • Patent number: 5189758
Abstract: A flexible closure support system comprising two end brackets secured to walls with a rail therebetween and supported thereon. A plurality of carriers are carried by the rail and are freely movable the length of the rail. The carriers have button assemblies hooked to one end and roller assemblies hooked to the other end of a symmetric shank. The flexible closure is fastened to the carriers by buttons on the button assemblies; the roller assemblies slide and roll in a roller channel in the rail. Pivoting, pendulum locks attached to the end brackets limit upward movement of the rails when engaging the upper surface of the rail but can be rotated out of the way with the thumb to remove the rail. Optional, resilient accent strips can be pressed into a channel running the length of the rail.

  • Patent number: 4729148
Abstract: A wheeled track-mounted carrier in one use mode supports a shower curtain through a color-coordinated button having a shank received through a grommet on the shower curtain. The button is removably connected with the body of the carrier which is suspended removably from the axle of a dual wheel track follower. In a second use mode, the color-coordinated button is separated from the body of the carrier and a pair of spring arms previously held in inactive positions on the body are released and are inserted upwardly through tubular pockets of a tape which is stitched at intervals to a drapery whereby the drapery is conveniently suspended from the track-mounted carrier. Multiple carriers are employed along a length of shower curtain, drapery or other hanging flexible closure.
