  • Patent number: 7243369
Abstract: In an enterprise server environment having a uniform resource locator (URL) access management and control system. The server includes a user authentication logic to authenticate users attempting to connect to the server to access URL file and directories residing in the server. In one embodiment of the present invention, the user is provided with an identification token and a user URL access policy which allows the user's credentials to be validated and permitted access to a list of URLs in the directory server. In one embodiment of the present invention, a URL access enforcement logic uses the user's URL access policy to determine which URLs in the directory server a user may or may not access. The user's URL access policy may include an access deny or an access allow value which respectively denies or allows the user access to particular URL.

  • Patent number: 7031967
Abstract: A system for providing service attribute information including a directory server containing a hierarchical data store associating users with service attributes through data inheritance, wherein the hierarchical data store includes an organization level and a role level, and attribute templates defined with respect to services and levels, an application for generating a query to the directory server for a service attribute of a particular user of the application, wherein the directory server, in response to the query, is for using inheritance rules from the hierarchical data store to determine and report a service attribute for the particular user of the application.

  • Publication number: 20030191763
Abstract: The present invention is directed to the application of the Class of Service (CoS) feature in a directory server. The CoS feature allows user entries in a directory to be associated to service templates for multiple registered services in the directory. Once a service is registered, a CoS definition (service definition) may be created for that service under the organization entry. Once a service gets activated, an associated CoS template (service template) may be created for that service using its service definition. The template entries contain a list of shared attribute values and changes to these values get automatically applied to all the entries sharing the attribute. By creating these service definitions and templates under an organization entry, all the service privileges can be made available to all entries under the organization. Similarly, policies for resources can be defined for an organization and policy specific attributes can be made applicable to all the entries in the organization.

  • Patent number: 4341018
Abstract: An attachment for a chain saw, suitable for holding a work length gauge, such as a wire log length gauge, to the chain saw so as to facilitate measuring and cutting logs to equal length, is provided for fastening to different handles and/or handle portions of different types of chain saws and for holding the gauge in desired gauging position with respect to the saw chains and cuts. The attachment is adapted to be fastened to vertical, horizontal transverse and horizontal longitudinal handle portions and to hold the log length gauge so that it may extend horizontally and transversely with respect to the chain. Positioning of the attachment on the saw may be effected by removing or loosening the saw handle and sliding the attachment onto it and then refastening the handle. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the attachment may be fastened to the saw handle without the need for loosening or removing the handle.
