Publication number: 20250249469Abstract: The disclosure provides methods for preparing a plural component foam where the materials supplies are provided from unpressurized storage containers. In use, a continuous stream of high velocity air moves through the static mixing nozzle, and the material streams may be intermittently moved into the gas stream of the nozzle and aerated and mixed with each other and moved with the air to form the plural component foam. The plural component foams are delivered from a static mixing nozzle at pressures of less than 300 psi. Spray guns configured for preparing the plural component foams are also disclosed. Polyurethane foams, polyurethane adhesives, and polyurea foams prepared by the methods are further provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2025Publication date: August 7, 2025Inventors: Thomas Joseph PETERS, James F. Publication number: 20250001437Abstract: Various examples are provided related to low pressure delivery, e.g., less than 250 psi at the point of application, of plural component system from unpressurized parts A and B material supplies. In one example, a system includes a polyurethane spray foam (“SPF”) raw material supply including parts A and B and a fluid handling system that can deliver the SPF raw material at low pressure to a metal spray gun in metered amounts through separate material fluid paths/conduits via a heated hose length and a whip hose. The fluid handling system can also deliver air at low pressure to the spray gun through separate air stream paths so that the air is communicated to the part A and B material conduits forward of the part A and B material input locations, where they are supplied separately to a mixing nozzle that is engaged at an end of the spray gun.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2024Publication date: January 2, 2025Inventors: Thomas Joseph Peters, James F. Peterson, David H. Faulkner

Patent number: 12005615Abstract: Various examples are provided related to polyurethane spray foam and its application. In one example, a method includes providing a system including a polyurethane spray foam (“SPF”) raw material supply, a fluid handling system, an air source, a heated hose, a whip hose, and a metal stray gun. Each of part A and part B material streams, either or both of which include particles, are generated by the system and conveyed by the system through the system and into a disposable mixing nozzle engaged with the metal stray gun. A mixture of the part A and part B material streams can be applied, via the disposable mixing nozzle, to a surface or into a mold at a pressure of 250 psi or less. A polyurethane spray foam coating generated from the method can be applied at a thickness of from about 0.5 inches to about 12 inches.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2022Date of Patent: June 11, 2024Assignee: SPRAY FOAM SYSTEMS, LLCInventors: Thomas Joseph Peters, James F. Patent number: 11919025Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying a foamed mixture of paints on a structural surface. A continuous stream of high velocity gas moves through a nozzle and is directed toward the structural surface, and two or more paints may be intermittently moved into the gas stream of the nozzle and aerated and mixed with each other and moved with the gas stream to form a foam that is applied to the structural surface. The components of the foamed mixture may include single component or plural component materials such as polyurethane foam, adhesive, and polyurea formulations, and may be moved through a volumetric metering device consisting of material heaters, a heated hose, and an applicator gun. The nitrogen gas stream fluidizes the mixture as it passes through and out of the nozzle and forms the mixture into a foam that is applied to the structural surface.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: SPRAY FOAM SYSTEMS, LLCInventors: Thomas Joseph Peters, James F. Patent number: 7478232Abstract: A reset detector is disclosed, which monitors the hardware reset of the subsystem(s) involved, in order to verify that the hardware reset has placed the subsystem in a correct reset state. Thus, in order to verify that an initial hardware reset has occurred, the subsystem software (e.g., during boot-up) detects the initial reset status of the reset detector, and blocks any additional reset attempts that may occur. In other words, the reset detector verifies that the subsystem hardware has been reset correctly, before the application software can proceed into an operational mode. An example reset detector circuit is disclosed, which includes a local reset signal generated by an RC delay circuit. The local reset signal is isolated from the system reset function, which allows the reset detector circuit to be initialized and reset separately from the system reset. Once the reset detector circuit is initialized, it monitors the system reset request line.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2006Date of Patent: January 13, 2009Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: James F. Publication number: 20040092356Abstract: A drive shaft rotated by a drive gear is coupled to an epicyclic gear arrangement which is rotatable as a unit about the drive shaft's longitudinal axis, as well as about its own axis. A driven gear is rotatably mounted on the on the drive shaft between the drive gear and the gear arrangement. Facing surfaces of the drive and driven gears are provided with annular concavities. A pivotally adjustable friction disk extends between, and in contact with, the concave surfaces. The opposite side of the driven gear is operatively connected to the gear arrangement. When the drive shaft is rotated, the gear arrangement is rotated about its own axis in response to drive shaft rotation and is rotated about the drive shaft's axis in accordance with the position of the friction disk. The speed and direction of the wheel-driving output are thus controlled.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2003Publication date: May 13, 2004Inventors: Joseph P. Deschamps, James F. Peterson

Patent number: 4269081Abstract: A cantilevered spring is supported proximate the transaxle of a piece of power equipment so as to be operatively related to the shift lever used to actuate the transaxle. The cantilevered portion of the spring comprises a main resilient section and an extension at its outer end which lies in a plane angularly related to that of the main section of the spring. The extension is provided with an elongated slot having a major axis which extends parallel to the plane of the spring's main section. The shift lever is received in the slot whereby actuation of the lever in a direction normal to the slot's major axis is resisted by the spring.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1979Date of Patent: May 26, 1981Assignee: The Murray Ohio Manufacturing Co.Inventors: James F.
