  • Patent number: 9583897
Abstract: An electrical connector system includes a socket component and a plug component. The socket component includes a contact region, a first socket contact centrally located within the circular contact region, and a second socket contact radially offset from the first socket contact by a first distance. The plug component includes a plug having a plug face, a first plug contact centrally located substantially within the circular plug face, and an annular, elastically deformable conductor having a radius approximately equal to the first distance which functions as a second plug contact. The socket contact region is configured to mate with the plug face to provide electrical continuity, in a connected state, between the first socket contact and the first plug contact, and to provide electrical continuity between the second socket contact and the second plug contact.

  • Publication number: 20070194872
Abstract: An electromagnetic actuator is capable of providing a high speed driving force, for example, for driving the contacts of a circuit breaker or similar power distribution equipment. The electromagnetic actuator may use a directly powered moving coil element in combination with one or more energized stationary coils to generate an output force using reduced requirements for current, voltage and current/voltage rate-of-change. Precise control of actuator motion is obtained by permitting different supply voltages, firing times and capacitor supplies. The electromagnetic actuator may further incorporate a return spring arrangement and a magnetic latch arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20070194672
Abstract: A compartmentalized electrical power distribution enclosure comprising: a outer enclosure defining an interior; a compartment enclosure disposed within the interior, the compartment enclosure including a plurality of interconnected panels, a panel of the plurality of interconnected panels being removable from the compartment enclosure and replaceable to the compartment enclosure by relative movement of the panel with respect to an adjacent panel without the use of tools, the removal of fasteners or damage to the panel or adjacent panel.

  • Publication number: 20070129848
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for the overall handling of removable controls for an electrical device including the installation and removal of controls from a base or other housing portion of the overall device, e.g. an overhead switch utilized in electrical power distribution/transmission. The arrangement includes facilities for selectively securing or releasing the controls with respect to cooperating housing portions of the device. An operating member is provided with provisions for cooperating with the controls for securing and releasing the control with respect to the operating member. In a preferred arrangement, the controls have separate control functions.
