  • Patent number: 9450966
Abstract: A method and system for verifying the integrity of virtual machines and for verifying the integrity of discrete elements of the virtual machines throughout the lifecycle of the virtual machines. A virtual machine manager capable of managing one or more virtual machine images is installed on a physical hardware platform. An integrity verification component can be communicatively coupled to the virtual machine manager and an integrity reference component so that the integrity verification component can compare digests of the virtual machine image or discrete virtual machine image elements to virtual machine integrity records accessible from the integrity reference component.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 24, 2008
Date of Patent: September 20, 2016
    Assignee: KIP Sign P1 LP
Inventors: Ronald James Forrester, William Wyatt Starnes, Frank A. Tycksen, Jr.

  • Publication number: 20060089737
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for integrating a plurality of software modules using a computer having a user interface is provided, the computer including a processor and a memory. The method includes receiving data at the computer relating to a CAD part or assembly of parts, the data entered using the user interface. The data entered is stored in a predetermined location in the memory. Using the user interface, the plurality of software modules is controlled in a predetermined sequence for processing the stored data, and the data processed (output) by each module is automatically communicated with each other module.

  • Patent number: 4379081
Abstract: A method of encapsulating radioactive waste including withdrawing radioactive liquid having a retardant therein from a source. The retardant may including borates, or other additives, which retard the setting of cements by preventing hydration at cement particles in the mix. The liquid is mixed with ordinary Portland cement and subjected to long term shear far in excess of that needed to form ordinary grout. The use of shear to overcome set retardation, and similarly, the deliberate regulation of acceleration of set in hydraulic cement pastes by the utilization of retardants plus shear produces a thixotropic paste with extreme moldability which will not bleed, and finally sets more rapidly than can be expected with normal mixing to form a very strong product.

  • Patent number: 4295473
Abstract: An apparatus and method in which the amount of movement of a boundary in one or more dimensions on a dynamically movable structure or a series of sequential visual representations of said structure is measured. The boundary movement is measured by the degree of shiftable movement between light and dark areas. The motion may be analyzed and quantified in terms of linear motion or area change and an electrical analog of such motion is generated in format suitable for recordation by conventional reproducing or display mechanisms, as for example, a conventional chart recorder. In one embodiment, movement in one dimension, e.g. a linear dimension, is detected but not necessarily quantified. In another embodiment, the movement in the linear dimension is detected and measured so as to provide a quantification thereof. In a further embodiment the movement is measured in at least two dimensions to provide quantification of area changes.

  • Patent number: 4014349
Abstract: Manufacture of a smoking material by catalytic thermal degradation of carbohydrate material above 250.degree. C, especially 250.degree.-300.degree. C, until the weight of solid residue is 50-90% (especially 65-90%) of the weight of original carbohydrate material, optionally bleaching, combining with a binder and fabricating to produce a tobacco simulating material.
