  • Publication number: 20200181513
Abstract: A method of treating petroleum fluids includes adding a wax inhibitor composition to the petroleum fluids, the wax inhibitor composition, including a wax inhibitor; a non-ionic surfactant or a cationic surfactant; and a co-solvent blend. A method of treating a petroleum fluid, includes adding a wax inhibitor composition to the petroleum fluid, the wax inhibitor composition including a wax inhibitor; an anionic surfactant selected from at least one of an isopropylamine dodecylsulfonic acid salt or an isopropylamine linear dodecylbenzene sulfonate; and a co-solvent blend.

  • Patent number: 10308866
Abstract: The invention relates to the viscoelastic surfactant based fluids and methods for utilizing same in oilfield applications including, but not limited to gravel packing, cleanup, drilling, acidizing, fracturing and the like in a subterranean formation. The viscoelastic fluid of the invention comprises at least one amphoteric surfactant and at least one synergistic cosurfactant that increases the gel strength and extends the brine tolerance of said viscoelastic-based fluid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 12, 2014
Date of Patent: June 4, 2019
Assignee: AKZO NOBEL CHEMICALS INTERNATIONAL B.V.
Inventors: Lingling Li, James Frederic Gadberry
  • Patent number: 10066149
Abstract: Compositions and methods are provided for delayed breaking of viscoelastic surfactant gels inside subterranean formations. Breaking is accomplished without mechanical intervention or use of a second fluid. The delayed breaking agent is selected from alkyl ether phosphates and salts thereof, alkylaryl ether phosphates and salts thereof, alkyl sulfates and salts thereof, alkylaryl sulfates and salts thereof, alkyl ether sulfates and salts thereof, alkylaryl ether sulfates and salts thereof, and mixtures of any of the foregoing. The viscoelastic surfactant can be a zwitterionic surfactant, and can be selected from the group consisting of sultaines, betaines, and amidoamine oxides.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 23, 2015
Date of Patent: September 4, 2018
Assignee: AKZO NOBEL CHEMICALS INTERNATIONAL B.V.
Inventors: Lingling Li, James Frederic Gadberry, Nick Henry Wolf, Jian Zhou
