  • Publication number: 20050261537
Abstract: A process for cracking a heavy hydrocarbon feedstock containing non-volatile components and/or coke precursors, wherein a stripping agent is added to the feedstock to form an enhanced hydrocarbon blend which is thereafter separated into a vapor phase and a liquid phase by flashing in a flash/separation vessel, separating and cracking the vapor phase, and recovering cracked product. The stripping agent increases vaporization of the volatile fraction of the heavy hydrocarbon increasing the maximum feedrate capacity of the furnace.

  • Publication number: 20030229182
Abstract: Novel stretch and blown films are prepared based on copolymers of ethylene and alpha-olefins having (a) a density in the range 0.900 to 0.940 (b) an apparent Mw/Mn of 2-3.4 (c) I21/I2 from 16 to 24 (d) activation energy of flow from 28 to 45 kJ/mol (e) a ratio Ea(HMW)/Ea(LMW)>1.1, and (f) a ratio g′(HMW)/g′(LMW) from 0.85 to 0.95. The films exhibit an excellent combination of strength and processability and are particularly suitable for use as either stretch films or blown films for use as heavy duty sacks. The preferred films show a dart impact of >1100 g and MD elongations of >500 %.

  • Patent number: 5772007
Abstract: A lock-out device for electrical circuits which includes an elongated, open sided C-shaped housing having parallel side walls each joined at an edge to a back panel. Each side wall defines a plurality of spaced, open slots. The slots in the side walls are paired in transverse alignment, and dimensioned to receive elongated locking pins. Each locking pin carries spaced annular grooves dimensioned to permit each pin to be engaged by the two side walls when the pin is placed in two aligned slots in a slot pair. A cover plate hinged to the side walls at one end of the housing pivots between an open position and a housing closed position in which it prevents removal of the locking pins from slot pairs in which they are received. The housing may be held in place to a surface adjacent the electrical circuits by a retainer clip which engages the circuit breaker panel and is crimpingly engaged with at least one of the side walls of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5376171
Abstract: A process for producing micropellets of lightweight aggregate having a substantially spheroidal configuration which includes continuously mixing ceramic clay and liquid in a high speed rotating pin mixer to encapsulate substantially all other non-volatile inorganic solid materials present in micropellets having a diameter not exceeding about six mesh. The spheroidal micropellets are then fired at a temperature of at least 2,000.degree. F. to oxidize all volatile organic compounds present. The light-weight aggregate of micropellets can advantageously-be used to replace sand in a cement or concrete matrix, as a well as for numerous other uses.

  • Patent number: 4606647
Abstract: A pin mixer for mixing particulate solids having a rotor with a plurality of radially extending pins removably attached thereto. The pins form a plurality of axially and angularly staggered helices along the rotor, and pins adjacent the inlet of the mixer are interconnected by a solid ribbon. Adjustable fluid nozzles are provided in the inlet for mixing fluids with the solid particulate material. The pin mixer has a pair of bearings, a pair of seals located inwardly from the bearings, and a pair of discs attached to the rotor thereof. A first pressure source may be connected between each bearing and seal to assure that leakage across the seals is away from the bearings, and a second pressure source connected between each seal and respective disc so that leakage between the disc and shell is away from the seals. The rotor has a pair of detachable stub shafts, and a means is provided to quickly change the rotor and shell without disturbing the connection to the power source.

  • Patent number: 4488708
Abstract: A draw works comprises a drum shaft which is supported off a base at spaced locations by four bearings. Each of the locations is adjacent a support side plate connected to support members of the base. The support members extend transversely to the drum shaft. Two of the support side plates are located on one side of a drum associated with the drum shaft, and two other support side plates are associated with the drum shaft on the other side of the drum. Disposed between the first two support side plates on one side of the drum is a mechanism for receiving a first power input, and disposed between the second two support side plates is another mechanism for receiving a second power input. Transmission mechanisms for coupling the power inputs to the drum shaft are also disclosed.
