  • Patent number: 4594823
Abstract: A panel support assembly is disclosed for use in concealed fastener roof systems. An array of rows and columns of support assemblies can be erected in a manner which facilitates "moduling" of the panel members to conform the panel coverage to that required by the steel framing. In each row, means is provided for incrementally increasing or decreasing a selected modular distance between fixed clip means of adjacent support assemblies thereby to accommodate differences between the "as engineered" dimensions and the "as built" dimensions of the steel framing. An improved roof structure is disclosed utilizing rows of fixing, clipping, and sliding support assemblies arranged to allow problem-free thermal expansion and contraction of overlapping courses of the panel members.

  • Patent number: 4486998
Abstract: A concealed fastener arrangement useful in attaching a succession of profiled panel members to spaced-apart structural elements of a building framework to provide roof or wall structures. The arrangement includes repeating series of fixed and movable clip means secured to the structural elements in predetermined pattern. Adjacent ones of the fixed clip means are spaced-apart at a selected modular width corresponding to the desired panel coverage width. Plural movable clip means are presented between adjacent fixed clip means, and are capable of limited movement longitudinally of the structural elements. When assembled in side-by-side overlapped relation, the panel members present downwardly opening, longitudinal ribs including joint ribs formed by overlapping the complimentary male and female partial ribs of adjacent panel members. The fixed and movable clip means are received within the longitudinal ribs and connect the panel members to the structural elements.

  • Patent number: 4467582
Abstract: A joint retention clip for use in a rib-like joint formed by overlapping male and female partial ribs of adjacent panel members in a roof or wall structure. The joint retention clip maintains the partial ribs of the rib-like joint in assembled relation in the region between adjacent panel supports. The joint retention clip resides entirely on the protected side of a sealant bead and is thus not subject to corrosion; and exhibits improved resistance to applied vertical loads.

  • Patent number: 4466224
Abstract: A two-piece concealed-type clip assembly useful in attaching profiled panel members to structural elements to provide an insulated roof or wall structure incorporating blanket or roll-type insulation. The clip assembly includes a U-shaped base clip having a relatively narrow bottom wall, upstanding sidewalls, and integral clip-stabilizing portions, one extending laterally outwardly from each sidewall; and flexible connecting means such as a top clip, carried at the upper ends of the sidewalls for connecting a rib of a panel member to a structural element. Only a minor amount of insulation is fully compressed at each clip assembly site whereby the structure exhibits an improved thermal efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4223503
Abstract: Upstanding polysurfaced male and female lips are provided along confronting edges of adjacent elements, such as building panels. The female lip is engaged over the male lip and when rotated about the male lip is snap-fitted into interlocked relation therewith. The lips provide an upstanding joint which secures the adjacent elements in fixed angular relation to each other. The lips are interengaged along plural angularly spaced-apart regions and are overlapped such that vertical and lateral disengagement of either lip relative to the other is precluded along the entire length of the joint.
