    Abstract: For use in winding stator coils using fine wire, a lead pull assembly having two wire clamping jaws, one of which is air-driven by a clamping cylinder, is provided with a spring-biased plunger assembly that biases the air-driven clamping jaw to a slightly open position when air pressure is removed from the clamping cylinder to ensure that the clamping jaws can slide along the wire segment between the clamping jaws.
