  • Patent number: 5061145
Abstract: An improved apparatus for picking up, transferring and depositing lightweight articles. The apparatus includes a driven rotary member having a pluality of tubular arms extending from circumferentially spaced portions of the member. The ends of these arms pass through a portion of a receptacle in which the articles are stored and suction is set up on these arms at their ends as moved through the receptacle to attract articles thereto. An extracting mechansim is positioned in close proximity to the arc created by the ends of the tubular arms and applies a vacuum, greater than the vacuum applied by said tubular arms, to extract the articles from the tubular arms and transfer the articles to a point of deposit.

  • Patent number: 4175455
Abstract: A continuous material, such as a block of urethane foam, is moved at a constant speed in a longitudinal direction on an infeed conveyor. A stationary cutting platen is situated at the end of the infeed conveyor. A cutting saw is movable in the longitudinal and vertical direction above the platen. A piece of the material, once cut, is carried away by an outfeed conveyor adjacent the platen. The movement of the conveyors and the longitudinal and vertical movements of the cutting saw are coordinated so that the cut of the material is always completed over the cutting platen.

  • Patent number: 4012186
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for making panels, such as wall panels, particularly of the type having metallic skins with a foam insulation therebetween. A movable carriage supports temperature controlled mold platens which can carry the skin material and which swing about a common axis to open and close. The carriage is positioned under a moving nozzle assembly which dispenses the insulation material between the skins. Means are provided to form male and female ends for the panels for interlock with other panels. In addition, means are provided so that the apparatus can be readily adjusted to form panels of varying widths.
