  • Publication number: 20250141196
Abstract: A cable gripping assembly. The gripping assembly has two jaw assemblies for gripping and pulling a cable. Each jaw assembly has a jaw block with a tapered cavity, and a jaw subassembly which fits within the tapered cavity to grip a cable when frictional forces, caused by a hydraulic cylinder or other actuator, force the jaws into the tapered cavity. The jaw subassembly has a guide plate, which carries pins affixed to the jaws. The guide plate is ordinarily allowed to move the pins along angled slots in a jaw plate. However, when actuated by a plunger, the guide plate and pins are forced to a widest point of the angled slots, maintaining the jaws in an open position, allowing for easy removal of the strand from the gripping assembly.

  • Publication number: 20250135653
Abstract: A system can form a part in an initial geometry into a desired geometry. The system may include a roller tool and a robot arm that: (a) presses the roller tool onto a surface of the part and (b) moves the pressed roller tool along the surface of the part to form the desired geometry. The roller tool includes a ball and a support with a socket that receives the ball and enables the ball to rotate in the socket. The support may include a channel configured to carry fluid through the support toward the ball or away from the ball. The socket may deform such that contact area of the ball with the socket increases in response to the ball being pressed onto the surface above a threshold pressure.

  • Patent number: 12277040
Abstract: In-place recovery of fatal system errors at virtualization hosts. A device identifies an occurrence of a fatal system error in the first instance of a host operating system (OS) executing in a computer system. The device determines to perform an in-place recovery for the fatal system error. The device performs the in-place recovery, including pausing the execution of a virtual machine (VM) by the first instance of the host OS, preserving a state of the VM within system memory of the computer system, and resuming the execution of the VM by a second instance of the host OS executing in the computer system based on the state of the VM that is preserved within the system memory of the computer system.

  • Patent number: 12275404
Abstract: Methods and apparatus that reduce demands on behavior of autonomous vehicles operating in a convoy, such as lane following or leader swap. A follower vehicle receives information regarding a path that a leader vehicle has followed. The follower generally follows the leader's path while being free to also observe its own lateral or lane constraints. In particular, lateral control of the follower, that is control of its relative location transverse to the road (e.g., its position relative to travel lanes) may deviate temporarily from the leader's path. This can make it easier for the follower to observe lane discipline, such as by eliminating the tendency, using line-of-sight distance, for the follower to speed up and close a gap to the leader while negotiating a curve.

  • Patent number: 12249037
Abstract: A system aligns a 3D model of an environment with image frames of the environment and generates a visualization interface that displays a portion of the 3D model and a corresponding image frame. The system receives LIDAR data collected in the environment and generates a 3D model based on the LIDAR data. For each image frame, the system aligns the image frame with the 3D model. After aligning the image frames with the 3D model, when the system presents a portion of the 3D model in an interface, it also presents an image frame that corresponds to the portion of the 3D model.
