  • Publication number: 20050271524
Abstract: A transducer system utilizing weighted compression units for transmitting and receiving the flow of a first fluid with the units disposed within a second fluid is disclosed. The system includes a series of weighted units linked one to the other. The weighted units are configured for select orientation and, when disposed in a first orientation, manifest a weight or force, compressing a first fluid into a second unit disposed in an orientation on the order of a generally 180 degrees from that of the orientation of the first unit. In this manner, the force of gravity causes the movement of a first weighted member compressing the first fluid into the second unit where the weighted member forces, by the force of gravity, the expansion of a volume within the second unit.

  • Patent number: 4691513
Abstract: Method of and apparatus for generating energy from a rolling or swiveling float tank utilizing the buoyant force of water contained therein. The float tank is mounted upon a central pivot to continuously swivel therearound. A series of flotation devices are mounted within the tank and forced upwardly by the buoyancy of the fluid volume shifting therein. The series of flotation devices are coupled to hydraulic cylinders or the like for transducing the energy resulting from the rolling flotation tank into a usable form. Swiveling of the tank is effected through a flow ballast fluid around the tank, the ballast transfer being affected by a central ballast discharge tank. The ballast fluid can be pumped from the tank or supplied externally to provide an efficient transducer system.

  • Patent number: 4497173
Abstract: Method of and apparatus for generating energy from a rocking float tank utilizing the buoyant force of water contained therein. The float tank is mounted to rock between first and second off center positions wherein the center of gravity of the water contained therein is shifted. A pair of flotation devices are mounted within the tank and forced upwardly by the buoyancy of the fluid volume therearound. The flotation devices are coupled to hydraulic cylinders or the like for transducing the energy resulting from the rocking flotation tank into a usable form. Rocking of the tank is effected through sequential shifting of ballast about the tank, ballast transfer being effected by compressed air in one particular embodiment.

  • Patent number: 4086765
Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating energy are presented wherein fluid flowing from the base of a standpipe drives a power converter such as a turbine. The discharged fluid is recycled to the top of the standpipe by pumping chambers which are filled by the flowing fluid and then discharged by compressed air. The compressed air is derived from a storage tank which is pressurized partially by the pumping chambers as they are undergoing a fluid fill cycle.
