  • Publication number: 20200350077
Abstract: An elderly-mortality prediction system includes a computing system configured to apply a first analytical model to a subset of a set of patient data parameters for computing a quick elderly mortality after trauma (qEMAT) score indicative of a likelihood of mortality of the patient, wherein the subset of the data parameters includes patient data available at admission of the patient, and further configured to apply a second analytical model to compute a full elderly mortality after trauma (fEMAT) score as an updated score indicative of a likelihood of mortality of the patient, using a full set of patient demographic data parameters including the subset of the data parameters available at admission of the patient and additional data parameters based upon diagnostic results and medical history of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20180246142
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for recalibrating a measurement instrument that includes a transducer coupled to a signal conditioning module. During an initial calibration of the measurement instrument, a transducer signal is recorded and stored to a non-transitory storage medium. During recalibration, the transducer is electrically disconnected from the signal conditioning module, and the recorded transducer signal is retrieved from the non-transitory storage medium and injected into the signal conditioning module to generate a measurement output. The measurement output may then be compared with a calibrated measurement to determine if the measurement instrument is out of calibration.

  • Patent number: 9765838
Abstract: A leaf spring manufactured from composite material has a variable cross sectional area. The leaf spring is manufactured by die forming a core of a constant cross section, then winding fibers onto the core to create a spring with a variable cross section and then cutting the spring to size. A ply lay-up station is shown which winds fiber onto a die formed workpiece as it moves through the station.

  • Publication number: 20110308301
Abstract: A supersonic tracer gas impingement through-wall leak detection system can detect leaks through a barrier without the need for temporary enclosures or interior pressurization. The leak detection system includes a wand that can flow a mixture of compressed gas, such as air, and a tracer gas through a nozzle. The nozzle may be held close to a barrier to be tested and the pressure supplied against the barrier may be adjusted to achieve the desired exit velocity and resulting stagnation pressure on the surface of the tested barrier. A tracer gas detector or soap solution for visual indication of bubbling can be disposed on the other side of the barrier to detect the presence or absence of the tracer gas.

  • Publication number: 20070023670
Abstract: A device to measure the amount of ultraviolet (UV) light that can transmit through a water sample, relative to the amount of UV light that can transmit through a sample of known UV transmittance. The measurement is known in the industry as UV percent transmittance (UVT). UVT can also be represented as UV absorbance (UVA) with the use of a simple mathematical calculation. UVT and UVA are essentially just different expressions of the same measurement. Preferably the sample of known UV transmittance (blank sample) has a UVT of 100%. A single UV sensor is used to measure the amount of UV light that transmits through the blank sample and through the water sample under test. In order to maintain accuracy, compensation must be made for fluctuations or drift in the UV lamp output. Such fluctuation and drift is very common in UV lamps and is due primarily to changes in temperature and imperfections in the ballast and lamp.
