  • Publication number: 20240071093
Abstract: Example embodiments relate to time-division multiple access scanning for crosstalk mitigation in light detection and ranging (lidar) devices. An example embodiment includes a method. The method includes emitting a first group of light signals into a surrounding environment. The first group of light signals corresponds to a first angular resolution. The method also includes detecting, during a first listening window, a first group of reflected light signals. Additionally, the method includes emitting a second group of light signals into the surrounding environment. The second group of light signals corresponds to a second angular resolution with respect to the surrounding environment. The second angular resolution is lower than the first angular resolution. Further, the method includes detecting a second group of reflected light signals from the surrounding environment. In addition, the method includes synthesizing, by a controller of the lidar device, a dataset usable to generate one or more point clouds.

  • Patent number: 7580862
Abstract: A method and system to select, schedule, purchase, confirm, invoice, bill and settle service orders, such as home services orders from customers. The method and system accept electronic service orders as well as customer leads for services, selects service providers and schedule services in real-time via a computer network, confirms scheduling of service delivery in real-time, handles administrative and business details for both customers and service providers, as well as fulfills, tracks and settle service orders. The method and system also provide customized information for services available via an electronic services network and dynamically schedule services using plural electronic appointment calendars from plural service providers. The method and system includes customer service order and customer lead information and enterprise-wide visibility and management of business processes. The method and system may also be used for goods.

  • Patent number: 6216163
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing visualization of performance of a distributed network. The method provides a user interface allowing easy visualization of the performance together with methods and apparatus for determining the distance from a client to a server in the network, for determining a service provider domain, for determining network congestion level, for determining bottleneck throughput, for determining bottleneck location, for determining page retrieval time and for automatically restarting a page under predetermined conditions.

  • Patent number: 6041157
Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds and derived materials based on compositions of matter consisting of appropriately substituted 3H-fluoren-3-ylidenes shown in figure A wherein the large dots (.circle-solid.) represent specific substituents define in the invention. ##STR1## These compounds and derived materials are able to undergo substantial changes in their optical properties in response to environmental changes. Such compounds and materials, for example, undergo substantial changes in their optical emission and absorption as well as refraction in different environments. In addition, by virtue of their ability to undergo permanent changes in refraction on exposure to certain predetermined wavelengths of radiation, the compounds and materials are photoprocessable by conventional techniques for the fabrication of optical devices and circuits, for computer, telecommunications, entertainment, defense, and sensor applications.

  • Patent number: 5987493
Abstract: A method and apparatus of measuring a server's network load based on information available in standard IP datagrams transmitted by a server from observations at the client. In the described embodiment, the IPID value in the standard IP datagram is used to calculate the number of IP datagrams transmitted by the server. A calculation may then be carried out to determine the rate of transmission and to provide comparisons with historical transmission rates and transmission rates for other servers.
