    Abstract: A gathering machine having a frame, a support rotatably mounted on the frame, and picking fingers mounted on the support for rotation with same and arranged for flexing while moving against a surface and under an article lying on the surface. The fingers are parts of picking finger units having a pair of coil sections forming torsion springs connected together and provided with extending resilient elements terminating in hooks forming flexible article-picking tops. Brushes rotatably mounted on the frame guide ears of corn, and the like, into a water furrow or other path of movement of the machine to facilitate the picking operation.
